This bookcase is the real deal. The packaging was well done - no problems with any nicks, scratches, etc. The hardware comes on a card so you know right away that you have all of the pieces. When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised at how truly "real" the wood pieces looked, and after a quick perusal of the instructions (which could be better, but get the job done with a little thought), started to assemble. Hubby had fallen asleep so I went ahead and started the job, and within just under an hour had a wonderful bookcase that was very sturdy and looked like a true piece of furniture. It is a really pretty red mahogany color - not too dark and not too red - and it holds a ton of items without taking a big footprint or looking hulking. After I got done I went and ordered the shorter version for another spot in the TV room, and they both look great together. They do the job but don't overwhelm the space. Pretty easy to assemble by yourself, but if you're not mechanically inclined would suggest taking your time since the directions are a somewhat vague. I would recommend to a friend, and will probably buy two more for another room.

A great piece. The color is fantastic and it's a very sturdy bookshelf. Assembly was pretty easy, I managed to do it well on my own (though would've been better with the recommended two people!) and I'm planning on getting another one. Great value.

I am very pleased with this product; it was easy to assemble and fits into my living room very well. The color is dark so be sure that this is what you want to add to your room.

This bookcase looks good in my TV room, and I like the open, unobtrusive style. It arrived nicely packed. Assembly was mildly complicated by a few of the pre-drilled countersunk holes, for screws that hold the shelves, not being cleanly pre-drilled. I used a small rattail file to clean out the holes a bit, then the piece went together nicely. After two weeks, it looked like the shelves that carried a full load of books were sagging slightly in the middle, so I would caution users not to load the center section of shelves with big, heavy books. I did some re-arrangement and I believe the sagging has stopped. Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase.

This product went together very easily. It is very sturdy. I have a huge dictionary and a shelf full of books on it, with no wobble or tipping.
