This is the second of these that I have purchased for my 11 foot umbrellas. They are very heavy and do a great job of holding up the umbrellas, but we do not leave the umbrellas up when it is windy. We are very pleased with them.

This base is heavy like crazy and does the job beautifully. We've had it about a year and it still looks great. Two advantages regarding this design (vs. the plastic bases that you fill with water to make heavy) are 1) the sloped design makes it possible for you to comfortably put your feet on it when sitting down and 2) you don't have to worry about rainwater pooling up around the base it since it can go right through. I have 2 suggestions regarding the product that I consider minor because it is easy enough to come up with a work-around. There should be several stand adapter pieces of different widths so umbrellas with different diameters of poles can be used. (We inserted a piece of hard plastic so the umbrella doesn't slant). Also, it would be great if there were some kind of overlapping flange where the umbrella pole meets the stand so that keep water doesn't go inside the stand part of the base.

Great look but too light. I live in high wind area and thought this would be heavy due to it's size. I could not find the weight in the description. Turns out to be about 35 lbs. My umbrellas have fallen over and one broke already. The base width does not help the stability.

This is a really nice looking piece. It's also quite weighty, which is a very good thing, since it gets quite windy at my house a couple of months out of the year. There is no way my umbrella is going to take flight with this holding it in place, but I still plan to close it and store it to prevent damage to the new umbrella I bought from Overstock. I'm looking forward to lots of relaxing on the patio!

We ordered this to be a freestanding umbrella holder. It is very solid and heavy and it works perfectly. We had no trouble putting it together, only takes 2 minutes. It is very pretty in person.

. . . . . . very large! We live in a high wind prone area of the California Desert and I think this stand is large enough and heavy enough to keep my patio umbrellas from sailing off. Only problem, delivery dropped package off at my front gate and I had a heck of a time getting it in to the house and out to the patio where it will be used. Finally had to unbox the stand and just sort of roll it along in to place. Yes, very large and very, very heavy. But the excellant price I paid for such a quality object made all the hardwork worth it!

I love this umbrella stand. It matches my table and chairs that I already had. I have a 7ft x 9 ft umbrella that it holds. The cost of the item was a little bit more than I wanted to spend but it is worth the money

I have a big patio umbrella and this HEAVY base was big enough to keep it stable . Lovely design and quality construction. I was pleased with this item, though it took over 2 weeks to arrive!

It's is everything they said it would be. If you need an umbrella stand, this is the one to buy!

Adapter sizes did not match the pole on the umbrella purchased at the same time. I had to make an adapter to hold the umbrella. because there is no adapter at the bottom, the umbrella is not held upright.,

Good value. The diameter of the stand keeps the umbrella upright without additional support of a table. This is important to me as I need my umbrella to sand alone on a patio for shade. We have experienced several high wind storms since purchasing the stand and our umbrella has remained upright throughout the storms. The stand is light enough to move around as needed.

Very pleased. So far it has withstood our New Mexico winds just fine. It is attractive, too; but the reason I like it is because of its sturdy construction.

This is an attractive cast iron umbrella stand. Well made - the problem lies with the fact that it is too light to support a 9' market umbrella, (the umbrella is double vented to allow maximum air flow). The stand blew over in the first strong wind - and the umbrella was closed. Nice stand -- no weight!!!
