I purchased this fleur de lis rod to go with a Parisian bistro tapestry also purchased from Overstock. One of the major influences in my purchase was the number of positive reviews given by other Overstock customers.
However, when the curtain rod arrived, the first thing I noticed on taking it out of the box was the lightweight feel. It is an adjustable rod, but there is no tension to keep the rod where you want it. As I was hanging the tapestry by a cord rather than mounting it, the two halves of the rod kept sliding together and bunching up the tapestry.
In addition, the workmanship leaves something to be desired. The screws stick out, and even after an attempt to tighten them, they left greyish marks on my white dining room wall. The finials are one-sided, although detailed.
Once I finally got the rod installed, it coordinates well for the price. If I'd seen it before I ordered it, I honestly would have skipped purchasing it due to the lightweight feel and lack of rod tension. The old saying "you get what you pay for" is true: if you're looking for an inexpensive way to hang wall art, this is a decent choice, but I would be reluctant to use this with an expensive tapestry.
