Flat-woven Tribal Wool/ Jute Rug (5' x 8')

Bought this rug for its size, price, and great pattern. It looks phenomenal under our wooden table and is comfortable to walk on barefooted. We are very happy with this rug.

• How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The color was possibly a tiny bit more muted in person, but we still love the rug
• Please tell us about the quality of the product. I don't know much about rugs, but it is plenty good enough for our humble home.

I just got this rug yesterday, and it smells strongly like burlap. No wonder--when I read the contents on the tag, I discovered the rug is made mostly of jute, and only 30 percent wool ! I was not expecting a soft, cuddly rug, as a couple reviewers warned it was not. However, I did expect that I was getting a mostly wool rug, which would be more durable than what I got. If you are thinking of putting this in a high traffic area, don't buy it. As a wall hanging or rug in a seldom used area, it is fine, and lovely. That is why I gave it 2 stars instead of one.

• Did the description onsite accurately describe the product? No. Onsite description of fiber content was 80 percent wool and 20 percent jute. Tag on product says 70 percent jute and 30 percent wool.
• Would you recommend this to a friend? No

This rug was just as I expected. The colors are a wonderful match for my decor. (I bought this to use under a glass coffee table). Another consumer commented, "the rug feels more like jute than wool" - I agree - this is not a rug to bury your tootsies in. It is scratchy. This was expected and not a negative. Due to packing the rug has a center crease - this could be avoided by using a tube and would raise my ratng to 5 stars.

This rug is lovely, however, the colors are not as bright as pictured. They are very muted. More of a rust and grey tone. I am keeping it, because I have the runner (which is wonderful, also at Overstock) and I wanted them to somewhat match. The runner is vibrant colors, and, this rug is VERY muted, but, I like the heft of it and it's a nice rug. The fringe is not so long (like some I'd bought at import stores) that it will be difficult to vacuum. It is flat weave, but, not as flat and lifeless as other rugs also bought at import stores. (Won't name them, but, xxx is the initial!) If you can accept that it's not as bright as pictured, it's a great rug. It's well made and lovely. Just not bright reds and blues. More like rusty and grey.
