File Cabinets

A file cabinet is one of the most important pieces of home office furniture you can have. Not only do they help keep you organized, but they are available in multiple styles and designs to help you make the most of your space. From wooden to metal cabinets, lateral to overfile, it's easy to stay organized in whatever style helps you focus and feel productive.
If space is at a premium in your home office, use vertical file cabinets. The vertical cabinets are designed to fit into tight spaces and pack order into every cubic inch. For big projects with lots of paperwork, try a lateral file cabinet. They feature heavy-duty construction, are easy to access, and are designed to support massive storage. If your home office stores documents in binders and books, check out an overfile cabinet. They give you the storage space and shelving required to keep all your binders in order and easily accessible.
Most offices need space for legal-size documents, so you may want to look into a legal filing cabinet. If yours is an office that's proud of its stately appearance, find a wooden file cabinet in solid oak or cherry veneer to match your decor; dark wood file cabinets add a professional feel to any room. If your growing office puts a premium on efficiency and individual office storage, check out two-drawer metal filing cabinets, designed especially for personal use. If your office exudes a contemporary feel, glass-front file cabinets reflect the clean, simple lines of modern furniture.
Some file cabinets and file carts feature caster wheels, making it easy for the office that's on the move to make an organized impression. At the other end of the spectrum, unassuming drawer file cabinets have a space for fax machines, printers, rotary files, and other office essentials to create an all-in-one organization station.

  • Very Disappointed With This Cabinet

I am very disappointed with this file cabinet. I have assembled many pieces of furniture over the years including 3 complete kitchens so I consider myself experienced in the construction of these kind of cabinets. I was pleased to see that all screws and assembly pieces were in separate packets which was a plus. The parts were also packaged separately but even so, the veneer on the front edge of one of the panels was lifting and I had to glue it down prior to assembly. The instructions were OK and I didn't have any problem understanding the order of construction or which parts to use. Unfortunately, one of the panels is slightly larger than the adjoining pieces which made it impossible to get a really good fit at the joint. The drawer construction was simple and easy to keep square but when installed in the cabinet, it does not sit square due to the problem with the panels. It runs in and out, although a little jerkily, but I figured it would serve its purpose. I began to transfer the ...

The cabinet was much easier to put together than I anticipated after reading reviews. It looks great in the corner of our living room which needed just a little something to fill it up. Given the relatively low price of the item, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it fit in with our other décor. Storage is limited but we use it for things we can't find a home for!. Overall, we are very pleased with the product.

Closely matched my current office furniture which is why I bought it. Its built very well and doesn't look cheap like most compressed wood furniture.

  • Best little file cabinet in brooklyn

brillalae  from Brooklyn, New York, Rating:4.0

Its a great cabinet. I thought it would be bigger, but I am still happy with the size of it. I did notice that files are loaded the opposite direction as someone mentioned in a previous review but I can live with it. It will take some getting used too though. Its a great purchase for my small home office and it doesn't make the room look cluttered. I put the cabinet together by myself. It took about three hours altogether. the styrofoam was horrendous! ugh!! that was separate time allotted for cleaning. All in all its a good purchase.
