Fifth Avenue Crystal 233-ounce Beverage Dispenser

I was very excited to have this for parties, or summer time fun out on the deck. As soon as it was unpacked two glaring issues popped out at me. #1 the spigot is not metal, as it appears in the photo and description (metal and glass) but a very flimsy plastic that I can easily see getting knocked off or stripped. You would have to handle this with kitten hands in order to have is last more than a few get togethers. Which brings us to #2. The bottom is not truly secured to the glass bowl. It only has a thin strip of what I can assume was inexpensive glue, that did not bond with the metal or plastic. Now it is possible, mine just came loose in shipping, but it is a major design flaw, because the top can easily fall off of the base with even light use. I can imagine that that bond would be a huge weak spot on any unit as the amount and quality of adhesive did not appear to be remotely close to support a 30 cup load. I am going to try and return it, and hopefully put my reward points towards something my family can use.
