I purchased three sets of these curtains, in brown, for my dining room. I thought they would look trendy and chic. I was extremely disappointed when they arrived. Instead they looked very cheap and tacky. The back was unfinished, they smelled terrible, and they looked more like a plastic shower curtain than a window curtain. Think twice before ordering these... wished I had once I found out Overstock.com charges an outrageous restocking fee upon return of an item!
I ordered the faux leather curtains first in Natural, but I found that the color was more of a yellow color than what might be considered a neutral or natural color, and also they looked more like vinyl than leather. So I returned them and replaced them with the Brown leather curtains, which was a much better color and overall appearance- richer looking and more authentic; they look more like real leather. I would also recommend ordering the matching leather chair cushions and pillows. They add a lot to the overall look in the room. A good buy in the right color!
very nice. Bed Bath and Beyond has the same thing for more money and you only get one panel. Great for blocking window glare off the big screen TV.
I have the pillows and drapes. I have the drapes in every color but burgundy. The natural and black drapes are great. The brown blocks the light like the black but does not look as realistic as the other two. The natual does give the room a nice glow when the sun hits it, and does a really good job of blocking others view in.
I was very sceptical buying these, what I feared would be pleather-vinyl looking, curtains but I am very happy with the purchase. I bought the tan/beige color and they look really good. They are really soft and not shiny at all! The tabs on the top are especially wide so they look well made and sturdy. These faux leather curtains were also very easy to install (less than 5 minutes) and they block out the sun in my front room and the cold by my back door!
I ordered these in black for my office. They are awesome!! Slightly wrinkled straight out of the package, but a few minutes with my steam iron fixed that. They had no odor at all. Each panel is actually 4 panels sewn together & the stitching really enhances the leather look. The fabric is thick, so the stitching does let a little light through. The backing is black, so I just used strips of gorilla tape on the back along the seams. I also used the tape to join two panels together, which makes it look like very wide panels w/ no light shining through at all. These look very much like a nice leather, nothing like vinyl. The workmanship is flawless. I sew & actually priced faux leather fabric before buying these. I couldn't even buy cheap looking vinyl for the price. An excellent value! I just ordered 4 more sets for my family room.
I purchased these a few years ago and still receive comments on how wonderful and unique they are! They hang beautifully and the insulated backing has been a huge help keeping the room cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. I highly recommend them!~
The color for the natural is really more of a tan. They really smell "fake" - they stunk up my room - on second day of windows open - slight relief - bought slightly toxic smelling. Also - they do not bolck sun fully - I wish I had kept the packaging to return them. One good thing - the wrinkles came up when hung. that''s about it.
I bought these because so many people said they were nice, and I can only describe them as the same material that is used for outdoor throw-away plastic tablecloths. I have also sewn a lot of curtains, and this looks like $1/yard wallmart fabric. These have no backing and can't be placed where you would see them from outside, because each panel is four sections sewn together with the seams showing. The material is see-through in the light, and I could smell them through the cardboard box before I even opened it. I have ordered other curtains from overstock, and thought they were of good quality!!!!
I ordered five sets (10 panels) of the natural color . They arrived promptly. The price was great. They are stitched really well with even stitches, top stitch-detail and no thread run-offs. The cream color panels are not black-out panels. They have a faux-ostrich appearance when the light shines through. Overall fine, however the smell is toxic. Hung outside, washed in washer on gentle, dried carefully on warm in dryer-still smelly. Although marked spot-clean, they looked perfect after washing and carefully drying which also took out wrinkles. Don't install in a bedroom as smell is strong-very much like mothballs!
I received my order very quickly. I was a little nervous ordering these online. I usually like to see and touch a product in person when I make a textile purchase, but I was more than happy with these curtains. I got the natural color and it was great. The light coming through the window gives a warm soft glow when these are pulled shut. I read the other reviews, and I did'nt think they looked cheap or have a funny smell. I got the approval from my friend on these also, and she has expensive and elegant taste. I'm going to buy 2 more sets, and 2 sets of pillows also. I love overstock and tell all my friends about it !
I got these, in black, for Christmas (because I asked for them). They are gorgeous. They didn't have a smell, when I opened them up, like a few of the previous reviews said. Also, any wrinkles from packaging came out about and hour after hanging them. They definitely look and feel like real leather. I have freshly painted charcoal colored walls, with white trim, and black & white bedding and they complete the room. I love these panels.
I received this item in usual record time and these curtains are superior to the picture!!! As for the PVC smell...I hung them outside for the afternoon and that was the end of it. Beautifully lined, these curtains are sure to draw positive comments. I'm back to order more!
The faux curtains are a real "show stopper". Friends notice them as soon as they walk into the living room. They love the black faux leather, and are surprised in finding out the curtains never wrinkle. The tabs at the top of the curtains move with great ease, even though they are heavier than some curtains. Very elegant to say the least. If you like true elegance, these are the curtains to purchase.
I ordered 4 pairs of black curtain panels. They were shipped within a weeks time. Only thing I needed to do was iron out the wrinkles and folds before hanging them. They really look like leather. Not much smell after a few days. Soft to the touch and very well made.
They're thick enough to keep out light, but still lightweight. The "natural" colored ones give the room a nice glow when they're closed.
I bought the Black ones , which I will give 5 stars, but the brown ones looked alright in the package but than i hung them up in the window , yuck , other side is white and they looked like did not put enough brown plastic was all cracked looking , I do not mean like the look of real leather either , only one panel had enough brown where it had no cracks at all, it seems to me that the curtains were way old also . I am sending them back , but i am keeping the Black ones they look just fine in my quess room .
I just received these curtains and was pleased with them. The last reviewer mentioned the seam that allows some light to come through. Actually I kind of like the look and do not plan to try to close it. They did come with quite a strong vinyl smell that seems to be going away or maybe I am getting used to it? If anyone has an idea of how to get the wrinkles out or if they go away in time I would like to know. The smell and the wrinkles are the only reason not to give 5 stars. I ordered the black and they look unique in my safari family room. I am awaiting my leopard sheers to arrive now.
While I have no regrets with this purchase and the drapes look nice, the site description says, "100% Polyurethane"; they're actually 10% polyurethane and 90% PVC. They also have a horizontal seam 18" from the top that lets light shine through; I fixed it by running a bead of black silicone caulking along the seam from the back side (I bought the black drapes--it might be harder to make this same fix with the other colors). I'd give them a conditional recommendation.
I bought the black ones. They're thick and opaque. Like pulling a leather jacket out of the box, it's very real looking even when you go right up to it and feel it- it could fool you even at close inspection. Very soft, supple leathery feel. Not just faux leather, but faux high quality Italian soft leather. However, comes with a new car smell! Hope it wears off.
