Fatima Blue Design Accent Ceramic Tiles (Set of 9)

I love this tile and designed an entire new bathroom around it. Great choice, I still smile when I walk in the room and look at it, after a year and a half. My only regret is that I live on the West Coast, and it would've been smarter and "kinder" to order something beautiful form Mexico rather than Tunisia. But I still view it as the purchase of a decade.

• How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Color was slightly different, enough so that I wished I'd ordered the green. But that is my own personal taste. Looking now, the colors are right, but the predominance of the olive green shows up only in person. Go figure.
• Please tell us about the quality of the product. It is handmade.
• How accurate was the on site description of the product? 100%.

For one thing, the glaze is entirely opaque and the glaze as shown in the description definitely looks translucent, and slightly flow bluish, that is slightly runny or bleeding. What I got is opaque and precise lines. And I did not know there was any yellow ocher in the design at all, when in fact there a considerable amount. Look at the four stars in each tile, in the description photograph, there appears to be some pale blue in the background. In the actual, it is white under the stars. None of that hazy blue is in the actual tiles. And the actual tiles are a pale opaque cobalt blue, rather than the translucent turquoise blue as shown in the description. In my opinion, they are barely acceptable. They have none of the Eastern charm or beauty of tiles from the Islamic countries. They could have been designed and made in Hackensack , NJ, or Orlando, FL in appearance. Definitely not worth waiting a month for, and, ordering from halfway around the world.

The tile came very well packaged and all in good shape. A few pieces had minor blemishes where the glazing had been disturbed, but I don't have a problem with that -- contributes to making each tile a unique piece. What was a bit of a bummer is that the color is not exactly as appears online. The predominant blue is a little less greenish blue than I was expecting and the accent green is a much yellower-green than the picture shows. I was hoping to use that accent green color to paint the walls a bluish-green but now I'm not sure if that will work and I definitely don't want to paint the walls the green of the tiles because it is too much of a yellow-green.

These are so much more beautiful in person. I was floored at the quality - the colors are vibrant and the details crisp. Order arrived quickly and well wrapped for protection from breakage. I am very pleased with these and have ordered in another pattern as well.
