I received my product today and am extremely unhappy that the package which contains the comforter is torn and it appears as though the item was used. I will be returning this item. If I wanted used product I would have purchased used product... but I was expecting new.
Overall this comforter is a good value. I thought the comforter would be warmer than it is given the fill power, and am somewhat disappointed by this fact, but given the product cost, it is acceptable. The comforter was very flat upon opening and unpacking, but fluffed up nicely within a couple of days. I was also disappointed in the down distribution (very little down around the edges). But again, given the product cost, the comforter is a good deal.
This is the time I've ever reviewed a product on-line, but this comforter deserves it. This comforter is exactly what you think of when you envision a top of the line comforter. It's puffy, light, beautiful and warm. I was initially concerned that it might not be warm enough, but it's actually very warm. The fabric is a beautiful Batiste cotton, which is very light with a beautiful sheen. The comforter doesn't have damask stripes as some do, but I don't miss them at all. I held the comforter up to the light and could see that the baffle boxes are packed with down. Each box is evenly filled and after fluffing the comforter each box lofted up incredibly high. It has a "comfort lock" border which is supposed to keep the majority of the down on top of the comforter, instead of allowing it to drift to the edges as tends to happen with other comforters. The construction seems as if it will keep this from happening. The border does have down in it as well, so it looks puffy all over. I also have the 500 TC Medium Weight Siberian comforter sold on this website, which is a nice comforter, but not in the same league as this one. I found this comforter on the "Famous Makers" website and the king size retails for $399.99. Quite honestly, it truly is a $400 comforter. It's complete luxe and I couldn't be more pleased.
This is a great comforter: warm, toasty, yet light on the body. You don't feel bundled up, just warm and cozy. I had a favorite years ago, and I have tried a two since that I just didn't like. This will be the one that I use for the next 20 years. A great value, worth much more.
