Family FM206 Steam Mop

Received this mop today. Couldn't wait to try it. I have been wanting a steam mop for quite sometime but didn't want to pay an expensive price. I have a cat and dog and wanted something that would clean without the chemicals as I have read some horrible stories about pets dying from floor cleaning chemicals. I will admit it takes a little more elbow grease to work than your standard mop but definately worth the extra effort. I mopped my floor with my current disposable pad cleaning system waited for it to dry and then used the steam mop. (just so i could see if it really cleaned any better.) The cloth on the steam mop was filthy. Proof enough for me to say worth the money. Easy to assemble and instructions are easy to understand. Floors feel cleaner to my barefeet and look fantastic. Definately worth the money if you are looking for cleaner floors without the chemicals.

I loved the Steam Mop at first until it worked at first (for a few months), and then the water would heat up but the steam wouldn't come out. I read the instructions and thought maybe the hard water had clogged up the vents, so i used water and vinegar to clean it as it was suggested in the instruction, but that was not the case. The pump that puts the steam out quit working... I would not recommend this product.

I received it in a timely manner, which was very important. The mop works well, I'd rather have a real live maid to mop. The grout is deep and I may have to work alittle harder at that than I'd prefer. Aren't I a lazy one.

The only advantage of using this mop is that you don't have to go down on your knees. Please remember, it's a mop, not a sweeper or vacuum. Therefore you must sweep first and then wipe. Advantages: 1. It's better than the swiffer wet ones, & swiffer wet jet. They push the dirt around and leave a residue. 2. You don't have to buy cleaning agents for swiffer refills or new wet wipes etc 3. The steam is a perfect way to sanitize Disadvantages 1. The mop doesn't have a steam control with different levels of steam. 2. The cord is very short - too short actually - I had to keep changing the outlets 3. It does indeed leak and leave way too much water!!! When you first put it on, because the cloth is absolutely dry the first part of your house wouldn't be so wet ... afterwards I had to get down on my knees with a bounty to swap the excess water ..I can't wait hours for that to dry with a 2 yr old running around!!! 4. Bulky to push around 5. Carpet glider is a waste of time since it does not glide!!!! I loved that it can sanitize but I need to find a better brand ..the Shark looks like a great buy.
