Excellent product I ended up making 6 dishes on the first weekend I got this - I would definitely recommend it. Rice is a delacate balance, yuo press the button and wait 6 minutes after it reaches pressure, but don't let it stand too long after that - and fluff immediately. Other favorites: Potatos, Carrots, Beef/Pork Ribs, chicken curry, lentils. I love this product, and still use eveyday.

I made rissotto, stuffed artichokes, soup, stock, roast beef, pork chops and rice pudding..everything turned out excellent, like I cooked it all day but only took mnutes!! If you work, buy this!! It makes cooking fun again. Lid is very easy to get on and off, make sure you have it on correctly to start.

Hello thomaslt, no, the Fagor Electric Pressure Cooker Plus cannot be used for canning, according to the FoodSafety.gov site, "Clostridiun botulinum spores are very hard to destroy at boiling-water temperatures. High acid foods such as fruits and tomatoes can be processed or “canned” in boiling water. In this method jars of food are heated completely covered with boiling water. But low-acid vegetables and meats must be processed in pressure canners. Jars of food are placed in 2 to 3 inches of water in a pressure canner, which is then heated to a high enough temperature--at least 240 ◦F. This temperature can only be reached in a pressure canner."
