  • Better than I expected

    I love my new canopy bed! After ordering it I read more reviews (I know, stupid right?) and some customers said that it wasn't very sturdy once it was put together. I beg to differ! I made extra sure that I screwed all the screws as tight as they would go, and it barely wiggles at all, even during ... well, you know ;P My only recommendation to someone who gets this bed is to secure the headboard end of the bed to the wall. I used these little semi-circular brackets that I got at the hardware store. I painted them black and placed them in an inconspicuous location. I can't even see them now, but it keeps the headboard from tapping against the wall. I put it together all by myself in less than an hour. It was very easy. All the parts were there and the instructions were very clear. No power tools required! I am extremely pleased with it and can't wait to get canopies up. Way to go overstock!

  • Great Bed

    This bed was extremely easy to assemble and is very sturdy. The only downside I see is that there is extra space between the mattress and both the head and foot boards. I assume this is because the frame will also accommodate a california king which is longer than a regular king bed. Otherwise, it is perfect!

    Great sturdy bed, high enough even without a box spring (just used 1 inch slates and 10 inch mattress), easy to put together and looks super expensive!

  • Stands the Test of Time

    I bought this frame from Overstock in 2006. It has been moved from Boston, to San Francisco, to Seattle. Today, it looks the same as the day I first unpacked it. It has totally stood the test of time. Worth every cent!

  • Good Buy

    After seeing this bed on line, I knew it would fit my guest room. Putting it together wasn't difficult and took me and my husband about 21/2 hours. It would have been easier if the parts had had their numbers on that part. We had to redo a couple of times because we attached the wrong ends. We are amatuers at this sort of thing but if we did it anybody can.

  • Awesome look!

    This is just a frame around a Tempurpedic adjustable bed for us -- and it was wide and long enough to do that. So, when you sleep in my bed, you aren't being supported in any way by this frame so I have no idea how it performs when moving around on it. The design is perfect for the guest room I have it in and the look is exactly what I wanted as I hung sheer gray drapes at each corner to be able to pull around the bed and create a cozy place to sleep.

  • Great piece for the price!

    I have always wanted a canopy bed and when I saw this one at this price, I knew it was time. I like that I am not locked in to any specific wood theme for dressers, since this metal will go with about anything. I did run into slight problem viewing TV in room because the poles of canopy now blocked view of TV, but just had to move things around a bit.

  • So in love with my new bed!

    I have been looking everywhere for a canopy bed that was not overpriced, this bed fit my style and budget. Very easy to put together, my 6 year old and I had it up in about 2 hours. I ordered on a Saturday (Feb 23) and received it on a Wednesday (Mar 6) not quite two weeks. It's very sturdy and looks awesome in my room, it is tall so it definitely makes a statement. Decked it out with a white sheer canopy, white sheets and a down comforter, very comfy. I am loving my first purchase from overstock!!

I just purchased this bed, and want to buy the right sized mattress. From the pictures in the instruction booklet (since there were no numbers on the bed parts to help assemble) appears to be a full, when I ordered a queen. The "Queen/King" should have supports in the middle, and the "Twin/Full" fully assembled does not need a middle suport. My finished product looks like one of a full size bed. I am interested in this bed but not sure about size. We have a king size mattress and box spring. I notice that the king size Excel has a rather large gap that some people say causes pillows to slide down. The queen size Xcel is also larger than standard mattress size. This bed is designed to be used with a mattress and boxspring. That is, there is not enough support for a mattress only. The metal bed rails that attach to headboard and footboard are 84" long, so there would be enough length for a seperate platform to set inside, however, they are set to 80" to properly support a foundation/boxspring. Therefore the bottom lip unto which a boxspring or platform sits actually comes in 1" on both sides - making the space between the rails to be apx. 78". overstockcustomercare1 on Oct 7, 2012

I'm very nervous to indicate that an exisiting 77" platform would fit within that width. Also, depending upon the height of the platform the mattress may, or may not, have the headboard panel not extend below the mattress line, leaving issues for pillows falling, etc... The bedframe the comes with the bed is 7" off floor, allowing then for a standard 9" boxspring/foundation and than an accompanying 8-17" high mattress. overstockcustomercare1 on Sep 5, 2012
