Comfy
I bought this mattress because I was tired of wearing out regular ones that didn't have springs and having to replace them every few years. Must say that the first night I slept on it the back pain that had been slowly creeping up on me from my old mattress went away. Overall the mattress is very comfortable. I thought I would miss my spring free mattresses but I find this one to be rather pleasant. It didn't have any kind of a smell to it when I first opened it up, unlike some other mattresses I have seen reviewed on here. As far as longevity is concerned, I won't be able to review that for a few years. My best guess is that it should last longer than a regular futon mattress, considering it has springs to push the mattress back into shape. In other words it shouldn't form a permanent mold of your body like my other ones did. Although it may cost more than a regular mattress, if it lasts longer than them it may very well end up making up for the extra cost so as of right now I am very happy with it. Definitely a mattress to use if you plan on using your futon for a daily sleeper like I do. Others just aren't made for that kind of use and won't last.

be sure to get a cover
The mattress seems ok. i haven't had it long, so it's hard to say. the problem is that it took three weeks to be delivered! I had out of town guests and it came on the day that they left!

- Please tell us about the quality of the product. when you unzip the cover the insides are loose. Be sure to buy another cover to use and to be able to remove to wash. The cover it comes with has a zipper, but if you take it off the insides will apart!

Fantastic, nine inch, spring filled, futon mattres
As with all internet purchasing, you never know what you're going to get until it arrives. I bought a futon from a friend and purchased this new "mattress" to replace the old, used sagging one that it came with. I am really happy with this mattress. It is comfortable to sleep on, it looks beautiful and it's comfortable to sit on.

I wish I could say that our experience was as great as the others who bought this product. When we first sat on this futon, we were shocked to find that the coils were barely beneath the surface of the cover. We unzipped the cover and found: 1) the coils were not pocketed, 2) the cotton layer was 1" thick at best, and 3) the foam layer was entirely missing! This was quite a disappointing product, especially since it was advertised as a "premium" level futon. While it was also frustrating re-wrapping such an unwieldy item to return, Overstock was VERY helpful and timely with the refund process.

Great product. Sets and sleeps very confortably. Does not lump up when sat on or opened up as a mattress. Microfiber covering is great.
