EvoOrganic Weed-free Garden Watering Blanket

I received this is mid march and had to wait a while to plant here so all chance of frost would be gone. I bought bought kits, one with Organic Fertilizer, one without. I tilled my 16x20 patch for both blankets,rolled them out and connected them together. Even though they say they are not designed for this, a Y connector worked just fine. We had to pull the watering tubes back through to the end, they are not real good quality, but do the job, The fittings are leak, no matter what we tried, until we undid all of them and wrapped them all in teflon tape to seal them. This item is cheaply made, not bad for the $30+ I paid for each, and seem to be working ok. The organic fertlizer doesn't seem to be doing anything though and I am now having to use Miracle Grow to feel like the plants are getting fertilizer. The rows in between the soaker hoses, are well marked and adequate. You must cut an X where you plant and fold back until the plants actually come up, or the blanket will fold over them and keep them from getting sun. As long as you mulch around the plant bases after they are grown some, weeds and grass are not a problem. Everything planted, corn, watermelon, squash, cantaloupe, beans, lettuce, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, bell peppers and honeydew, are growing well and seem to be getting sufficient water from the soakers. One advantage I have found with this is it's ability to keep the plants from being waterlogged during a hard rain and it holds the water under the blanket well, discouraging evaporation. Make sure you mulch after your plants have sprouted in order to control weeds or grass from growing from those holes and to keep the blanket better protected from UV to last longer and the box suggests. All in all, I am pleased and looking forward to a good harvest this year and will most likely buy at least 1 more for a spare. Just don't waste your money buying the kit with the fertilizer, not worth it if they charge more than $5 more. Good luck!

This is the best watering and weeding system ever! The Weed Free Garden blanket is easy to use and saves so much time on gardening. My vegetables were bigger than they ever have been this summer when I used the blanket. I'm buying another for my flower beds this spring!
