Customer Reviews
This stand looks nice when finally built (does not look cheap) and has enough room for all your components. Holds up a good amount of weight from a 55'' LCD and accessories.HOWEVER...the wood if VERY POOR quality and pieces we're falling apart while I was putting it together. If you can get over that hump than this stand is for you. Shipping will take forever and watch for your item being "lost" in the ware house like mine was for 2 weeks.Over all good stand for the price. Unless someone is snooping around at the detail you can get away with saying you paid more than you did.
This is a pretty nice piece for the price. I put it together while watching TV one night, not hard at all. I used a hand screwdriver for almost everything except attaching the back piece. I had to use a powered drill for that. Looks pretty nice as well...the color in the picture is pretty accurate - a real dark chocolate. I painted my living room walls a deep golden brown/yellow - "Stonebriar" from Sherwan Williams and this piece looks good in there. I have a 50" plasma sitting on it with a DVR, A/V receiver, and PS3 underneath in the doors and a center speaker on the middle shelf. The only concern I have is that when I operate my satellite DVR/box and A/V receiver with the door closed it gets kind of warm/hot. So I sometimes just leave the door ajar. For the price, its a good deal. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because my gear gets hot because of the doors. That is not the furniture's fault, but I'm still only giving it a 4. And overstock.com is pretty great, I've found some nice stuff for my house and I'm on a budget.
I bought this for my 60 inch DLP TV because it was the best price I can find that would fit it. Overall it's an OK stand, the reason why I say that is because it had some scratches on the sides, but can't really complain too much, the scratches aren't that bad unless you get up very close to the stand. There is allot of room for the DVD player, cable box, game systems, etc., so that was nice. Just be careful, everything except the top of the stand seemed to scratch somewhat easily. The shipping was horrible, almost 2 weeks, but what can you do. Overall I say it's an OK purchase, compared to other furniture stores, this would have cost 2 to 3 times what it cost on overstock so after paying $1000+ for the TV, it was nice not to have to put another $1000+ down on a quality TV stand.
