This couch is comfortable and looks nice. It seems to be sturdy and well made. The assembly isn't trivial, but I was able to do it by myself in a couple of hours. Overall I am quite pleased. The only disappointment is that the color is very different from the picture. Instead of a bright, greenish color, is is more like a dark tan/light brown with green undertones. I was hoping for something brighter, more in line with the picture.
I bought 2 sofas for my den. After reading the reviews, I was prepared to have a tough time getting it together. One was a breeze...the other one was quite difficult. We had to drill the leg holes out some and then the bottom velcro piece was about 6 inches too long for this sofa. They do look great...AT FIRST. I loved the straight clean lines. However, within about 2 months, the material on the seat cushions were twisted and turned. When you look at them now, they look as if they have several years worth of wear on them. The bad part is that we don't even use them much at all because we are always gone to school and sports functions!! If I had a "do over"...I would spend a little more and get something that would look good for a much longer time period.
I bought both the Asparagus sofa and chair and love them both. They're GREAT for the price. They arrived via UPS, packaged VERY well, so there's a lot of styrofoam to throw out and cardboard to recycle when you're done. The assembly instructions were VERY clear and all of the materials for assembly were included - no other tools needed. The pieces are relatively light weight and easy to maneuver, so I was able to assemble both the sofa and chair by myself. The only problem I had with the assembly was with the trim piece along the bottom (between the sofa and legs). The instructions said to put in a screw with a washer to hold them together, but the holes drilled in the trim piece weren't big enough to fit the large washers. Luckily, the holes were small enough that just the screw head would hold the trim on, so it all worked out. I've been using the sofa and chair for a couple of weeks now and have had no problems at all. They're both comfortable and stylish. The only other thing that kind of surprised me was the color. When I saw the Overstock picture and read the name "Asparagus", I think my mind and my eyes assumed GREEN, but when they arrived, it was evident that they're more of a Wheat brown color with just the tiniest, slightest hint of a yellow green. Still, the color looks great and fits into my decor just as well as the green color would have. :) Overall, GREAT BUY!
The overall appeance is great and it is definitely a great price. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. I have a small place and had a hard time finding a sofa that would fit without being too bulky. This sofa is great for a small place, it has a low back and low arms. The color shown is accurate and very easy to intregate into any color scheme. The sofa is sturdy but a bit low and the cushions are soft but comfortable. This sofa is in a living/dining room area which is not a real high traffic area; it is the perfect size for my space. The sofa arrived as scheduled. There was a problem with the frame, the center support was unglued but my husband was able to fix it instead of returning it to for a replacement. Also, there were no instructions for assembling. It took my husband a couple of hours, including the repair to put it together.
I bought the couch not to long ago it was pretty easy to assembly and I really liked it when it was finished i think it has a kind of vintage feel, The one thing i'm not very happy with is the set cushins are starting to ripe at the seams so I'm starting to get these little holes were the seams are and there getting biggger and bigger every day. A Bit refustrating but i got the protection plan so I'm hoping it will be taken care of and it wont be something i will have to worry about the next time. Fingers crossed! Besides the holes though its a really nice looking couch.
Looks great, assembly is putzy. Don't expect this furniture to hold up for too many years. Be mindful that you will have to tighten the screws every once in awhile. I would recommend this furniture to someone who is looking for something affordable and good looking until they can afford something of better quality.
Great color, fabric is very nice and easy to clean. We have dogs, so that is always a concern. Assemly was very easy, we bought all 3 pieces and had them assembled in about an hour. We were very happy with this purchase. The cushions are a little stiff until they are broken in, but with some through pillows, it is very comfortable.
First the Bad:We had to saw part of the bottom beam because it was so bowed out when this sofa arrived that we couldn't get the bottom base on without there being a gap between the sofa and the base. Other than that, I'd say there needs to be more thought put into the velcro backing as it tends to look chinzy/cheap.The buttons dig into the spine. They protrude way too far than they should and two of them are loose already. Haven't had this sofa more than 3 months. The covers of the cushions keep moving up/twisting up so that I continually have to straighten them to look uniform otherwise it looks like when a pillow case is put on a pillow crooked.Cleanup if something spills leaves marks almost like faded, worn material. Try not to get anything on it.The Good:Very unique color - a light moss, yellow green. Very calming, soothing, earthy. Good for rooms with dark brown - chocolate walls as well as light neutral walls. The base is a dark red/brown and goes well with the acutal sofa color.Nice wide design. Looks modern and classy at the same time. The chair is wide and square and looks very good with the sofa.Cushions are firm (so far).Good or bad depending on how you look at it: The back is low reaching to below shoulder level. I like it but someone looking for comfort and the ability to lean back and relax might be disappointed.Finding curtains that match this unique green/moss color is near impossible. I'm still looking.
I bought two of these sofas for my sitting room because I liked the price and the mid-century-esque design, and only planned on using them when I was entertaining. I read all of the reviews and so was prepared when I set to assembling- the first sofa went together in 45 minutes with no problems, the second had a misaligned screw anchor in the base, and when I unscrewed one of the bolts to see what the problem was, another anchor backed out of that hole as well. A quick trip to the hardware store and some smaller bolts/nuts/washers later, I had rigged it together, but that sofa is still a little rickety. Between a one day sale and a coupon, I got an amazing deal on these and they do look nice- light beige in daylight, greener in lamp light- so I am happy with my purchase, but be prepared to improvise!
The sofa was much smaller than it appeared in the picture (A little low to the ground) but the color was great and comftorable. Easy zip off cushions for machine washing is a plus. Took about 11/2 hours to assemble by myself and fingers are a little sore from the allen wrench. Not a bad item for the price and my husband likes it.
Ok, I bought this sofa along with the two chairs and am very pleased with the look of the sofa. The color on the website is a good representation, and it is very modern in its style. The only problem is that the wood frame that attaches to the bottom of the sofa can not be attached to the sofa because the sofa does not have any drill holes. It also did not come with instructions -- but because we had purchased the chairs which did come with the directions, we knew what we should expect. We now have a sofa that is legless and sitting on our tiles awaiting the day my husband can drill the holes and finish putting it together... Luckily, he's incredibly handy -- if it were me alone, it would remain on the floor until I figured out which books to stack underneath it....
We ordered this sofa about 6 months ago and were very happy with it at first. It's very cute and easy to put together! However, about a month ago, the sofa started squeaking VERY badly. I'm not sure if something's wrong with the frame or not, but it's just awful and every time we sit on it or change position, there's a loud squeaking.I'm going to contact Overstock reps and see what we can do. It's a cute sofa, but the squeaking is just unbearable.
I am thrilled. I ordered all three pieces. It arived to me in four days. Very easy to assemble, It is very sturdy, looks beautiful, great clean lines. This was a big item to order online, so I was a little leary as my husband and I always do all big shopping together, I always read all reviews, it helps in my decisions.. I agree, it would be great if it was a little more green, but depending on the lighting it changes tones. I am 100 % happy with this order. We have just moved into a home that is larger than our last , and we have been very happy with all our orders, I love the great discounts and of course the shipping price. Our home is looking warm and inviting because of overstock.com. Thank you.
The sofa is perfect for my apartment. After downsizing from owning a home with lots of furniture I need to scale way back. This really worked out great. A little difficult to assemble. Not sure I would pay the current price of $***.

This is a perfect small scale/low profile sofa. It is very comfortable with a soft fabric that is easily spot-cleaned. It definitely has a "green" hue to it. My kids and I have piled on it almost every day to read books and we all love it! We've had it for almost two years now and it has withstood the test of time.
You sit on it, and if you are over 150 LBS you'll feel it starting to hurt after 20 min. I returned this.
This sofa was very easy to put together. I did it myself in just under 1 hour. It seems sturdy enough and any problems I had with assembly were due to me jumping ahead rather than reading through the instructions thoroughly. With that being said, I do have some concerns. The biggest problem is that the cushions don't match! One is a bit darker than the other. At first I thought it was the lighting in my living room but this morning I opened all the blinds, turned on all the lights and its the cushions. I have no idea what to do about that because I am certainly not going to take the sofa apart and return it at this point. Also worth mentioning is the sofa is actually not all that comfortable. If you're looking for something to curl up on with a blanket while watching TV or reading a book...this sofa is not for you. It's very firm. It's certainly worth the price. Especially when you factor in the shipping costs.
I've had this sofa for a year and one of the cushions has developed a large rip at the seam. Also, the cushions have flattened considerably. Granted, we sit on the sofa a lot and it was inexpensive, but I am going to have to get another one soon.
I bought this sofa in June 08. The fact that it comes in pieces is great for my small apartment with very narrow hallways. The asparagus color is actually more of a gold-green, but I love it. The fabric does tend to crush a little if you sit on it as much as I do. Overall, a great little modern looking sofa.
Love this sofa. Its comfortable and modern. Not a bad deal for the money.
