I have a Eureka that I bought as refurbished over a year ago. It looks a little different from this one, but has all of the same features, including the 12 AMP motor. We have been well satisfied with this product. It has a self-propelling feature that is a great addition. Haven't had to change any filters yet, as we empty it each time that we finish with it. I use an old toothbrush to brush off filters once in a while. As with any product, upkeep is the key to it working properly. I would buy another Eureka, based on the service of this one.

This is the best vac I have ever owned. I have 4 dogs and this gets up all of the hair....and even some I didn't know was there! Well worth the buy.

My husband and I bought this vacuum about a year and a half ago. We are now looking for a replacement. This vacuum is a mess. It is heavy and hard to maneuver. We struggle to store it in our townhouse. The "paw" attachment which worked great for a while, stopped working shortly after we adopted our first cat! The vacuum does not work on bare floors. It just pushes dirt around. I stopped using it on bare floors and sweep instead. We used this vacuum to clean our house top to bottom before having friends over who are allergic to cats. Even those friends who have mild allergies still had major problems. I just don't think the vacuum picked up the cat hair. Top it off, the unit clogs CONSTANTLY! It pulls up a ton of carpet fiber and then it clogs and backs up in the hose. We routinely have to stick our hand up in the vacuum and pull out tons of fiber and debris. Talk about dusty! The machine is messy. Even after a thorough cleaning, the dust cup just doesn't contain all of the junk. Don't even think about trying to use this monster on stairs. During the holidays it was totally ineffective at picking up pine needles and such. Not worth the budget price tag at all!

I ordered this vacuum knowing that mine was on it's last belt, but when it got here and I used it the first time I was shocked (and embarassed) by the amount of DIRT it was pulling out of my carpet. With 2 boys and 2 dogs and a cat, I knew I would get pet hair and some dirt, but this was pulling out the silty, sandy stuff that you usually find when you replace your carpet. The stuff that gets down in and under the carpet pad. I vacuumed the same little carpeted area in our hall, where you first enter the house and after the 6th time, I will still getting the sandy stuff. This vacuum really SUCKS! It is not awkward to use and moves across the carpet very easily. Although I think the cord wrap handles should stick out a little farther so you can wrap up the cord easier, if that is the least of my objections to this vacuum, then I am not to worried. This is a refurbished unit, but came looking brand new, in a brand new box with all the pieces. You would never know it was refurbished. Will definately buy another one when this one dies!

I was a little skeptical about purchasing a refurbished vacuum, but now that I've seen it and used it, I'm sold! It's an awesome vacuum for the price - it outperforms the more expensive model that it replaced. I have pets and it handles the pet hair with ease. My favorite thing about this vacuum, though, it that my carpet looks new again! It found dirt that I didn't know existed and in the process, fluffed up the matted areas of the carpet so it is soft and plush again. Excellent buy for the price, you won't regret it!

This vaccum REALLY sucks!!! No... really!! I never knew I had so much dirt on my floors until I got this bad boy. It picks up stuff you can't even see with the naked eye. Truly a great product!

I HAVE ONLY USED MINE A FEW TIMES SO FAR AND I AM VERY PLEASED. LOVE THE LITTLE BEATER BAR ATTACHMENT FOR DOING HARD TO REACH PLACES. ALSO LIKE THE FACT THAT IT HAS THE "EDGE" CLEANER TO GET NEXT TO BASEBOARDS... PICKED UP DIRT VERY GOOD... I ALSO ORDERED ONE FOR MY FRIEND, SHE IS PLEASED ALSO.

I enjoy the ease of using this vacuum. I especially like how it's powered to go forward. It's great for those who don' t have much strength or maybe have thicker carpets.

This was refurbished but was new in the box as far as I could tell. My husband and I were so pleased with the performance of this vacuum. We want to sell them and use an at home video as to it's performance. It was unbelieveable how well it worked. It was a bit gross as to how much stuff it picked up. We have two dogs and lots of hair and this works beautifully. The attachments are great too. The furniture attachment works great. No complaints and would definitely encourage anyone to buy this vacuum. Great price through O.com!!

My son gave this to me for Christmas and I LOVE IT!!! It was absolutely amazing to see what it picked up after I had just ran my old vacuum. The extra long hose is awesome! I've called my son 2 more times since Christmas just to tell him thank you and how much I love it. When me and my wife first got this product we were excited to see how great it worked on its first run. The next few days, the quality went down hill. The hose that plugs into the vacuum-continuously kept falling out. The vacuum' pump kept getting clogged and cleaning it is a messy hassle.

I've been recently diagnosed with outside and inside allergies that require an air purifier and frequent vacuuming because of dust and dog hair. This vacuum is lightweight, moves easily, picks up everything without throwing dust around and is very easy to clean and empty. I found it to be a real bargain and I did a lot of shopping for hepa filter vacuums. I am completely happy with this machine and have my housecleaners use it as well. I highly recommend it.

Just moved out of my parents home and they gave me their old vacuum....unfortunately the bag broke and so we used a gift certificate to buy this one....i was nervous about getting a refurbished one but it was TOTALLY worth it!! Some of the parts were brand new and it looked in great condition! We got soo much dog hair off the carpet that we didn't know was there. The only thing I can say is definitely don't let it sit in one spot too long because it will get hott and I can imagine it could burn your carpet but it picks up stuff you would never know about!!! I LOVE IT!!!

I am very impressed with the ease of assembly and the performance of our new Vacuum. I had no idea there was "so much stuff" in our carpets and on our tile! It is so nice to have a vacuum that is easy to use yet cleans so well. I would highly recommend this vacuum for your consideration. The value is certainly there.

After months of battling a "commercial" vacuum and asthma. I bought the Eureka Altima Hepa vacuum and I couldn't be happier. It brought my carpet back to life and I can breathe easier again too. Win Win. Thank you Overstock for the raging deal on my vacuum!!!

Vacuum works well. The assembly was simple. Collection cup is quite small, but easy to empty and reload. The 2993A that I received did not have the duster on it. Light weight and appears to be durable. Could not tell at all that it was refurbished, it looked brand new. Be aware that it arrives in the it's regular box, and not a cardboard one.

To save money, vacuum was purchased as reconditioned but unit received was new, assembly was simple ( 3 screws).Plenty of power does a good job, this was a replacement for another Eureka my wife pulled on the cord and dislodged the vac from the upstairs landing down the stairs and onto herself, this broke a piece off inside and a replacement was required -this unit is a sister to what she had and and what she had she liked, plenty of power and suction, we have 1 dog and three cats and the machine does well on all that hair - VERY SATISFIED - Unit arrived within a week of ordering

I found the vacuum to do a good job. Suction was pretty good. Onboard tools were helpful, although several tools didn't always stay on like I would like them too. I have a dog so cleaning the many different filters often was important. The trash colllector dispenser seemed to fill up too quickly. I had to replace the drive belt twice only real negative.

The vacuum works great as long as the filters are clean. That doesn't seem so bad...except that there are two separate filters and a dirt cup to clean out. One filter is fairly easy to get to, but hard to clean. The other is hard to get to, but easy to clean. You will need to clean these filters out EVERY time you want the vacuum to actually pick up dirt! Make sure you clean the filters AFTER your vacuuming session, because they are best cleaned with water. Then of course, you need to let them dry before using the vacuum again. You have to let them air dry because one is a foam filter, and the other is a plastic cylinder which is full of little holes that make hand drying difficult. Then the dirt cup seems to also reduce suction as it gathers more dirt, too. This vacuum is such a pain in the neck! And of course when the teen-aged boys cooperate and run the vacuum, they aren't going to be bothered (or even think about) cleaning out those goofy filters. So if you love spending an additional 15 minutes cleaning filters every time you vacuum, have a husband/children who are thrilled to clean filters, and have a way to clean up the fine dust that splatters when you remove the filters, this vacuum is for you! (Take into consideration that the fine dust can't be cleaned up because the vacuum is now torn apart and can't be used again until the filters are dry!) Aargh!!!
