  • Absolutely perfect!

    This is a perfect dining room set for a small space. I received the delivery much sooner than was expected and it was more than well protected during shipment. Both the table and all four chairs were completely unscratched and unblemished at the time of arrival. The quality of the wood is fantastic and the leather is soft. All four chairs have great padding and are very comfortable. Very easy to assemble and was able to do so quickly with the tools and screws sent. Everything that was needed for assembly were included in the packaging; no missing screws. The finished set looks great. I absolutely love the dark brown color of the wood. This is, in my opinion, a great buy. Would higly recommend to anyone looking for a dining room set. Just keep in mind that it is for a table of four, if you need something bigger, this probably won't work for you. Happy hunting.

  • Gorgeous dining set for a great price

    What a beautiful and affordable dining room set! As a budget-conscious shopper, I am always on the look out for bargains, and this is certainly one of the best. For a surprisingly low price, I now have a gorgeous, contemporary, sophisticated and extremely comfortable dining room that has become the heart of the house. The table and chairs are very sturdy and the upholstery is a rich brown tone that confers and lovely layer of warmth. Very happy with this purchase.

    As soon as I saw this Eugene Dark Brown 5-piece Modern Dining Set on Overstock I knew I have to buy one, no matter what it costs. I was surprised about the price and more about the quality. The chairs and the table are all having great quality and great design. The set is having the perfect size for my dining room, giving the sophisticated and elegant look I was looking for. The dark brown color of the long backrest chairs and the sturdy classic table are making a perfect whole.

    My husband and I enjoy this dining set. It's not too heavy and it's not too light. We set it on a red and cream rug, it looks great...and expensive!

  • Completely damaged!

    I was excited to get this table after reading all the reviews. I took it out of the box, and the table was scratched deeply on the tops and side of the table, and the legs were completely scuffed. Strange as the box didn't look damaged or anything. I opened one box of chairs to put it together, and one of them was defective as the material didn't sit snugly against the padding - all wrinkly looking. I complained to Overstock and was offered to return it or a small discount to keep it. Not fun to spend well over an hour putting together the table and a couple chairs just to take them apart and stuff them back into the box.

  • Lovely set, but...

    This set was on sale, and looked lovely, so we decided to purchase it. I'm really happy with the chairs - they look gorgeous and are comfortable to boot. The color is exactly as pictured! However, when we received the table, there were dents in 3 sides and one of the corners has a nice chunk out of it and is peeling... I don't think it was handled very well in shipping. We had a tablecloth ready for it anyway, and didn't want to have to ship it back to Overstock... so we kept it. I think we may have been an isolated incident, because the set seems very nice and popular otherwise.

  • corners damaged!

    Ordered this and the table came with two out of four corners chipped and broken, contacted Overstock, they sent a replacement table (not chairs since the chairs were ok) and it was damaged even worse than the first set I received! Really? Do these shippers not protect their furniture when shipping? Very dissatisfied with the poor handling and the quality of the set.

  • Damaged Tabletops, beware

    I got this delivered yesterday. I was surprised to see that there was no proper protective packaging and the tabletop was placed inside a shipping box. Naturally, there are multiple chips and a dent on my table top. One of the chips is quite bad, and ready to break off into a bigger damage. One of the corners is also chipped (Obviously they must have the tabletop rested on this corner). They should have had proper foam/ cushioning to prevent this kind of damage and proper handling instructions. The assembly instructions for the table came with a figure, and says step 1, no written instructions! I wasn't sure at first, but figured it out myself. I think I am going to return this table, I do not want to use a damaged table, which may be further damaged due to the chipped sides and corners. I travel a lot and do not have time to call customer service or go after them explaining the damage etc., I shop online with trust and for convenience, not to unpack, see damage, repack and ship back etc etc., so buyers beware that it maybe a hassle if you get a damaged product.

  • Nice but flawed

    If the table legs hadn't been chipped and scratched, I would be very pleased with this purchase. However, there are several noticeable marks that cannot be easily covered up and with this size of a piece, once it is out of the box returning it is not really an option. So I have to live with a less than perfect table. Makes me hesitant to purchase on-line again.

The photo does show chairs side by side on the long side, based on chairs that are 17 inches wide x 21 inches deep. The depth of the table is 29.5 inches deep (or wide) and a chair that is 17 inches wide should fit fine at the end for a seating of six. The table depth, however, may not allow for all the chairs to be pushed in, under the table. We hope this helps. overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 24, 2013
