For the price, this is a more than adequate machine. It has taken me some time to perfect my espresso's and latte's. I previously owned a La Pavoni Professional for over 20 years but it finally broke down. Didn't want to spend $1,500 on another one so I opted for this pump machine at a very minimal price. It is light weight compared to the chrome machine I previously used but once you have used it, you get used to it's quirks. Most of the time, it makes great espresso but I like adding steamed/foamed milk to my drinks so it requires xtra shots of espresso to acquire the flavor I am looking for in my drink. I like very dark and thick espresso. ALWAYS, preheat your machine before making your espresso. The best part of this machine is the frother/steamer! It is fabulous and makes the best creamy steamed milk I have every had. The cups will jump around when you start the pump so you need to hold them while the espresso is pouring out. The tamper works great but you need to experiment as to how hard you pack your ground beans. If too hard, the espresso won't pour out and if too light, the grounds come out mushy and watery. This is where I had to experiment several times to get it just right. Overall for the price, it is a really good buy and I recommend it.

Machine is a tad finicky... Make sure you use bottled water not tap or your machine will quit working in no time at all.

Very easy to use, durable. It makes very good expresso and the color is a true silver color.

I was going back and forth on if I wanted this machine or one without a grinder as I already have a really nice burr grinder. In a rum fueled shopping experience, I decided to just pull the trigger and get this one. Worth It. I keep the espresso roasted beans in this and anything else goes through my stand-alone grinder. I didn't realize how sensitive espresso is to grind size, bean type, pack pressure and quantity. There is a HUGE difference between the big bag of cheap espresso beans and higher quality beans. I initially got the cheap bag so I could burn through it learning the machine. The problem is I needed to over-pack the basket (or use the double wall) to get the pressure into the acceptable range. With quality beans from the local coffee shop I was able to turn the grind size back from ultra-fine and go to the recommended amount of pack suggested by Breville. I'm still learning, but I'm getting much better at getting the gauge to hit the center of the espresso range. I do wish the tamper had less of a pointy end where you grab it. 30-40# of pressure on that little end stuffed into your palm hurts. The pod size is also apparently not-quite-standard so buying an aftermarket _cheap_ tamper isn't really an option. The cheapest I quickly found was in the $25 range. Compared to the standard sizes being ~$5, its just annoying. Overall, I'm an espresso beginner and its a great machine. Lots of things to adjust and play with but not enough to feel completely overwhelmed.

My son-in-law, a true Italian, said "get this, you will not regret it, the crema on the espresso is the BEST!". I VERY MUCH love this machine, and the only down side is finding capsules for it. I can find k-cups everywhere, but the Nespresso doesn't use these. For the moment, I am buying direct from Nespresso, and the quality is fantastic. I hope to find more options as time goes on, and the popularity of this machine rises. One other word: The 'k-cup' machines are good for an all-around, make tea, coffee, even soup machine. But as many times happens, being good at many things drops you from being excellent in one thing. Nespresso only makes coffee. It's excellent!

I was skeptical about buying a refurbished espresso Maker but this was exactly the same one I had for at least 5 years that recently broke. I also purchased the 2 year warranty just in case. The espresso maker looks like it was brand new. It works great and I'm very happy not to have to spend the $ to buy a brand new one.

I love this expresso machine, great brew, beautiful design and price. Only think I would love to, is if it would come out burning hot, not that it doesn't , but a bit more would be best.
