I saw this buffet months ago on Overstock. I waited too long and was crushed when I went on to order it and it sold out. In the interim I ordered one from another vendor online that looked similar. It was more expensive but it was already assembled and a mahogany to espresso brown. It arrived and a corner of it was crushed. I returned it and imagine my delight when I looked on Overstock and they had 1 left of the buffet that I originally wanted! It did take my darling husband several hours to put together. He did not say that it was exceptionally difficult, but we do have one pin that we could never get fully flush. You do not notice it looking at the buffet. I am able to fit 12 place settings of Great White dishes in it easily as well as several serving trays, glasses and my silver and napkins in the drawers. For me this is a lifesaver as we live in an attic apartment with sloped ceilings and do not have upper cabinets in the kitchen. My only slight disappointment is that this buffet presents as black at any point other than when in direct sunlight. In the sun it is a perfect rich beautiful brown. I would just want to make it very clear to any potential purchasers that you need someone who is good at assembly and has some spare time and that this buffet is almost always going to look closer to black than brown. I may also go out and buy different drawer slides so that it is smoother opening and closing the drawers. Other than that it is wonderful!!!

This buffet is beautiful. I read all the reviews, so wasn't surprised or upset by the long assembly time. The instructions say to assemble in the order given. Drawers are last. I suggest you put one drawer together first. That way you can be sure of fit before completing the buffet. We had to backtrack and take apart because of a mistake we made with the tracks. If a drawer had been available to try, we could have fixed the mistake right away.

Very good buffet, looks great. Had many pieces but great instructions. An electric screw driver is a real must, especially since the back board is attached with screws (which shows what a great quality product this is!) And two people are recommended for the assembly, since it gets very heavy (again, real wood, excellent quality!) I was also very impressed with how easy it was to attach the doors exactly right - usually one needs to play with the hinges until it closes straight, but here there are no screws to play with and it was so easy to assemble properly on the first try. The only downside for me was the color, I expected a dark brown color ("Espresso..") but this is completely and totally black.

I've been looking at the same one at *** , just couldn't get myself to actually pay over a grand for the same piece. I'm glad I finally chose the one with Overstock. The only part that sucked was the assembly...not difficult just time consuming and instructions could be just a bit more clear!

This is a very strong and good looking piece of furniture. You need to be pretty handy to put this together and a large area to lay all the piece out. One of the drawer with slot piece broke where the slot is... Luckily I am doing remodeling in my house and had wood clamp and glue to glue it back. Don't over tighten the screw as I broke on of the screw... I spent 6 hours to put it together alone. I would give it a 5 stars if the drawer piece was not broken.

Very nice, substantial piece of furniture for the price. I bought this to use as an entertainment center because most are too short and small for my taste, but this was PERFECT. I fit lots of dvds and components on the shelves and the drawers are so handy for extra remotes, etc. Installation was time consuming because it is so big and heavy but overall not difficult for an experience furniture assembler (since I order from overstock a lot, I qualify :). The only issue was that one of the screws in the bottom came up through the wood even though I was very careful to hand tighten and not to overdo it. It was easily concealed and otherwise it went together beautifully. So happy with this purchase!

This is a great addition to our living room. We had been searching for a non traditional tv stand that could double as functional storage space. This was the perfect piece. The sturdiness and solid quality is just what we needed.

I buy a lot of furniture on Overstock, usually because my tastes change and I don't want to bother investing a lot of money in a piece that I'll want to replace in a couple of years anyway... This buffet pleasantly surprised me. I purchased it to use as a media center (as another reviewer used it) in our family room. My husband spent a couple of hours putting it together with our teenaged daughter, and said the instructions were easy to understand if you'd put together furniture before; a newbie might take longer. Once my husband got it together, I decided it was too nice for a media center and really belonged in the dining room. Its dark color (it looks black except in direct sunlight) coordinates with our painted black farmhouse table, and its ample storage allowed me to finally store all of my china in the dining room and free up much needed kitchen storage. While I usually replace furniture pieces every few years as they wear out or become outdated looking, I fully intend to keep this buffet around for a long time.

This is the most beautiful piece of furniture you could ask for! I've been looking for something manly with clean lines, well, this is it! Went together in less than 2 hours. I would definitely suggest you go to brick and mortar stores, check out what they have for $800+ and then come home and order this.

We would definitely recommend this buffet. It great in our dining room. The shipment arrived exactly when they said it would. There are a lot of steps to putting it together, but all holes lined up perfectly. We had one knob break in assembly, but it quickly was replaced after we notified the company-- and that was a pleasant experience as well. We will be using Overstock again. We were very pleased.

I love this piece as much as the chairs! I am acutally using it as a media center rather than a buffet. I needed something taller, yet still long enough to fit into the space and this was it! The only down fall was that I had to create a way to run cords through the back of the buffet. It was easy to do for the back was in two pieces taped together. It would have been nice have had a 'punch out' option for this purpose. Otherwise, I love the it!

This buffet has now become my favorite piece of furniture in my house. I get lots of compliments on it. It has lots of storage. I was able to hold two sets of fine china (12 servings each) into the buffet. One set is on display in the two cabinets, and the other set fits into 3 of the drawers, leaving one drawer for my flatware. It took 4.5 house to assemble, but it was so worth it. It is very heavy, so be sure that you assemble it nearby its final destination.

This is such a high quality piece, very solid for the price! It is a MUST to have an electric screwdriver for assembly. I assembled it by myself, but it did take a few hours. I couldn't be happier with how it looks in my dining room. I would highly recommend.

I will first start out saying that the base of product when received was slightly defective (2 of the boards didn't quite align right). A new base was sent to us under a week. My husband put this together by himself in 4-5 hours. We did put on stainless steel hardware on the drawers. It is absolutely perfect now, and we are very happy with our purchase. Appears to be good quality as opposed to several others we looked at in the stores (some even at a higher price).
