Coming from the generation that the put together yourself furniture, I'm a pro at this since the early 80's when this stuff first came out. This was the simplest one I've ever done. I do many since I'm a maintenance worker for an apartment complex and it's great making an extra $40-$50 off people when they buy this stuff. After I had it together in 20 minutes I took a good look at the quality and I have to say, if this was in one of those multi chain furniture stores through out the US this would easily be $600-$700 put together sitting in there showroom. You can tell the quality of this unit because it is held together by REAL screws and not those annoying allen wrench with those screws that the head strips after a few turns. The unit is all wood, even the back board is screwed in and no hammer needed. The only down side to the unit is it's not deep enough for a large A/V receiver, but it fits on top. 13 1/4 inch is the max for a component. So if you mount the tv on the wall like I did then your ok, but if you don't then you may want to measure your A/V receiver first. A PS3, XBox 360, Wii, dvd player, surround sound system in a box kit or cable box fit fine. Finally, I couldn't pass up the $1 shipping charge and no state sales tax, poor UPS guy wasn't happy with the 93lb box:(

Nice and solid. Paid our super to put it together and it didn't appear too difficult. Fairly well padded when delivered. MAKE SURE THE PIECES YOU ARE PUTTING IN IT FIT THE WIDTH AND DEPTH OF THE SHELVES. We had to cut another small hole in the back panel to fit the tuner wires. We were going to buy a corner piece but realized the pieces for the audio equipment would not fit. We have the DVD player, tuner, tape player and CD player inside. The speakers fit on either side of our 40" TV which we also just purchased. This is a good sized unit for a 40 " TV. The doors were a little sticky so put some wax on them and they are now fine. Finally, a great piece of furniture that looks more expensive than what we spent on it, does exactly what we want it to do, has a little oriental accent which fitted in with some of our art and we have already had many compliments on it! Thank you OS!

Incorrect item was sent. Customer service was great. Not exactly what I wanted but it was put together before I realized it was the wrong one. Good quality.

Only thing i would change is to be able to adjust the middle shelf, but other than that this is a perfect entertainment center. The swivel is smooth and the glass is very nice.

It took a friend a little over two hours to build, but he was also multi tasking, so that may not be too accurate. I have a cut wall shared by the kitchen, so i needed an entertainment center somewhat wide, but I didnt want to pay over 300, which was the going rate. The two drawers are deep enough, and my 46' TV sits well with sufficient space surrounding to move the screen as necessary. For the price and quality, I am very happy with my purchase.

This entertainment center came in a million pieces. You need to have someone with carpenter skills and a lot of tools put it together. The top was damaged with scratches on one end, but it is too much hassle to return it. When put together, the left cabinet door does not lie flush, but rather overlaps the front of the piece. I would never recommend this product to anyone; still it was cheap and does hold my tv/dvr//dvd well. I did not put the back on - which was merely a piece of cardboard with a paper faux wood grain on it.

This cabinet is SOLID wood, with an awesome distressed multi-tone finish. Even with all the re-claimed wood character, the entire piece is fitted nicely: the hinges are straight, the doors meet, the magnet clasps are strong, the joints do not bind, and it sits level. The storage shelves behind each door are stationary. Our video games and accessories fit perfectly (I'm using baskets behind the doors for easy access and storage). My husband had to drill the hole in the center for cords. (And yes, even the back is solid wood.) I was called for delivery early in the anticipated date range. The delivery guys brought it on time, right through the front door (it's HEAVY!) I also have the Vintage Shutter Doors Cabinet with a similar finish on the opposite wall. They make a great pair for a casual teen-friendly den. I get compliments on both pieces.

4 Stars for the look, 1 Star for functionality - Overall Rating 2.5. Nice piece of furniture and easy to assemble. However, the interior of the cabinet is not deep enough to hold electronic components. The depth of the cabinet when the doors are closed is about 13 1/4 inches and our stereo system components (receiver, DVD multi-player, equalizer, satelite dish receiver) are about 15 inches deep not including the cables. If you don't intend to put electronics in the cabinet, it is perfect. If you plan on using components, measure your electronic equipment, include an allowance for the cabling coming off the back of the equipment, to see if 13 1/4 inches will be deep enough. The back enclosure can be left off and the components can stick out but part of the allure of the cabinet was the dark stained back enclosure.

easy to put together - not very good quality 'wood' materials

Primary disappointment is that it is really more cherry than brown. It arrived with some chips and scratches. Difficult assemble with bent parts.

It's a very nice and easy stand to assemble. Unfortunately, it's a bit small and not as tall as the measurements state.
