I placed this piece in front of a half wall between the living room and kitchen in my condo. It fits perfectly. On top I have a 47" TV with a Kilpsch SB1 Soundbar. I placed the cable components in the open space provided for equipment. The "cigar" stain is very cigarish, but it works with the other wood furniture I have in the house. It smokes! Friends who have seen the piece are amazed at how good it looks for the money I paid through Overstock.com. So am I. The only drawback to the piece is that there is no cover for the back of the open equipment space. My brother is cutting a piece for me with a hole for cables. I plan to tack it on later. The problem is that unless you wall is black, you will see the cables, surge protectors and other equipment connectors. This ruins the overall look. Also, it is best to have two people to assemble. Otherwise, one of the best online purchases I have made.

I love this entertainment center. Kind of reminds me of the 50's, but in a good way. It took about 3 hours for my husband to put together, and it looks great. Very solid, and I love the darker color wood; without being black. We've received several compliments, and it's the 1st thing company notices when they walk into the room. Guess our old kitchen table really stood out as not being appropriate for what we were using it. bk

purchased this tv stand for my 32 inch flat screen for in my new condo which has an open living room/kitchen floor plan. i was looking for something black because my kitchen has a black theme and i wanted to keep the rooms flowing. great price, simple looking, lots of instructions but fits together very nicely and is sturdy. i like the small area of open space for our cable box and xbox but i also like the storage area at the bottom to keep dvds and controllers to make things more organized. i thought it would have been a little longer but i just ordered and didnt measure, so thats my own fault. it actually ended up working out perfectly with the size of our tv and components. its a good starter stand that will eventually end up in another room once we have a bigger living area but for now, its perfect!

This is a beauty -- very stylish and the focal point of our den / kitchen. I just love it. It was beautifully packaged -- no chance of breakage -- we highly recommend this entertainment center. Just our style!

We were having trouble finding a tv stand for our 60" tv. This tv stand is perfect! It is a large piece (for a tv stand) and has a grand look. I completely changes the look of our room. It matches our Cosmopolitan Dark Brown Leather Counter Stools (Set of 2) that are in our kitchen. We were nervous about ordering it online. I am so glad that we took a chance.

The only thing I did not like about the product was the things that were not screws to hold together the base. I have never put anything together with these things, cant recall what they called them..."something" locks. Two of them broke so I had to figure out another way to secure those two places. I wish, there were extra screws and such included just in case you strip one or like what happened to me with the lock things. Otherwise, love it. It was exactly what I wanted. Sometimes I get scared ordering off the internet that I'm going to get a heavy piece of furniture and it wont be right and I'll have to send it back, but both pieces I have ordered from Overstock, this and a kitchen island, were both perfect. I now have a bed coming so we will see how my 3rd investment in Overstock goes. So far so good.

Nice looking piece, too many parts, but the directions were easy to follow. Finished it in two hours. I wish if the space for the electronics were bigger, I am only able to have two of the three I have. The drawers are nice to reduce the load on my kitchen junk drawer. I know this won't be a life long piece but it's good for now.

Here is my story. I live in NYC and searched extensively for an entertainment center with this style. Everything I found was double or triple the cost of this entertainment center and I searched long and hard by walking into some of the nicest SoHo furniture stores. Anyway, I saw this on overstock and took the risk of purchasing without seeing it in person. The risk was worth it. I received the entertainment center on time. This entertainment center comes in two boxes which are both extremely heavy. I had to have my doorman call the Super to bring up my packages. I opened the packages and everything was neatly packed and nothing was damaged. All pieces are marked with numbers including the screws. I immediately went to Home Depot to purchase an electric drill. I highly recommend using an electric drill for assembly. You should also have a hammer and a 4mm Hex Wrench (although I used a kitchen knife because I did not realize this prior to the Home Deport trip). I am a 36 year old, petite, professional female and I assembled it on my own. You really need to take your time while reading the instructions which are very well labeled. Just think about what your about to do before doing it. The instructions are clearly mark with what way the pieces should be pulled together, so just look at the pictures and think about the diagram before moving along. There is no reason to make an error, the instructions are well pulled together. The only thing is that I highly recommend putting a comforter or blanket down if you have a wood floor. The unit is pulled together upside down so you don't want to scratch the top. Overall, it's a great looking piece of furniture that looks even better with my 50 inch TV. I do agree with another reviewer that you should have a fairly big TV for this unit. I don't think it would look as good with a smaller TV.

It took a friend a little over two hours to build, but he was also multi tasking, so that may not be too accurate. I have a cut wall shared by the kitchen, so i needed an entertainment center somewhat wide, but I didnt want to pay over 300, which was the going rate. The two drawers are deep enough, and my 46' TV sits well with sufficient space surrounding to move the screen as necessary. For the price and quality, I am very happy with my purchase.
