The vacuum has great suction with the carpet attachment and does a fantastic job on carpet. Its almost shocking to see what gets pulled from your carpet! But without that carpet attachment, the floor attachment gets very little suction and does a poor job on bare floors (same for using upholstery and other tool attachments.) Also, you'd better be very careful how you maneuver the the handle as you put vacuum away, lay handle on floor, etc. The handle is plastic and I see and feel the potential for the handle cracking or breaking if you don't take care. Bottom line, yes, I'd recommend to a friend because of the tremendous carpet cleaning property but not without warning them of the other stuff.Read More
I had a very expensive vacuum but lost it in Hurricane Sandy. I needed to replace many things after the Hurricane so I could not afford the extravagant vacuum I had before. This looked good and the reviews sounded okay. The components are all plastic but they work fine. I am very pleased with the performance of this vacuum. I has good suction and does a good job. I would definitely recommend it.Read More
it has great suction, i like the "powered rug" floor base with it's lights and wide angle, it' pivots so you can get under tables, beds, etc. I like the automatic cord rewind, the cord is short but with it being a canister and the extended hose with telescope wand kinda makes up for it. thats the only con is that the cord is short. Also, you do have a tendency when picking it up to reach for the handle on the waste canister, which would pop out and result in you dropping the machine, the carry handle is right behind it.Read More
appears to vacuum well. good with carpet and has attachment for bare floorsRead More
Love this vacuum it's quiet, light weight rolls well. Would like a bigger dust cup because we have hairy animals and the power switch on the handle but I love the vacuum.Read More
I had a dyson canister vacuum and I just sold it after only 1 year. I found the dyson to be clunky, not very effective at picking up cat hair and hard to use on the stairs because of it's short handle. The canister sits on the stairs, but often falls backwards and off the stairs. The electrolux is the complete opposite. I vacuumed an area rug in my living room with the dyson. The very next day when my electrolux arrived, I took it out of the box and vacuumed the same rug. I couldn't believe how much dirt and cat hair was sucked up. After vacuuming the entire house with the electrolux, the house actually smelled better. The stairs are still a little difficult to maneuver, but knowing that they're getting cleaner than before, I just vacuum half of the stairs with the canister at the bottom, then do the top half with the canister at the top of the stairs. This is my second electrolux and I can't say enough good things about it. You won't be disappointed.Read More
Bought to replace the Dyson I previously had. This vacuum was designed much better, equal if not better suction, attachments much easier to use. All around a much better product. Highly recommend.Read More
This machine is wonderful, Electrolux has been around for years, and still remains to be the best in floor care. This machine is quiet, yet very powerful. Easy to use. I switched to uprights, and found myself back to canister style. I don't think I would ever change again....This is a great price for a high end machine!Read More
