  • Really Like the Thermostat - Get What You Pay For.

We were looking for a thermostat that was touch screen, easy to use, easy to read, and that we could control remotely. What's even better was that this works on regular wi-fi and you don't have to utilize Z-Wave or any other 3rd party service. INSTALLATION: I thought it was easy. However, that's going to depend on your comfort level. Just make sure the wires are properly mapped to the correct terminals. I just had to push them into the hole and they locked into place. Once I had the wires installed onto the mounting plate, I just secured it to the wall where the original thermostat was located. I pushed the thermostat onto the plate and it turned on. Best part was a setup wizard started and guided me through step-by-step programming. MAKE SURE... You need to have a "Common" wire that will supply the electricity to your thermostat. This model does not take batteries. I did have to go to the furnace and connect the common wire so the thermostat has power. Helps when you h...

It can be DIY but you have to know what you are doing. This thermostat requires a 24v feed to supply power. There is no battery compartment like other product. It is overall a great thermostat and it is very simple to use. One drawback is the screen has to stay on all time. It can not be turned off in any way. However, it will be dim a bit in the dark.

I bought these to replace ugly old ones. Theses are sleek and can be aimed.

  • Exactly what I was seeking

After researching the various wifi thermostats, I found this to be on the top of my list. I liked the option to control from both the thermostat and wifi device (in case of power outage). The screen is so much more aesthetically pleasing than traditional thermostats and looks nice. I really enjoy seeing it on the wall. The item is nearly simple to setup. If you are looking to set temperature alerts, then you need to set those via the Honeywell Comfort Control website (that part was the only problem I encountered which took a little exploring). Overall, I really enjoy and look forward to a hopefully long lifetime of the item. I do wish the price was cheaper, but wifi thermostat technology appears to be quite a jump from the past products. Another concern for some might be having only a 1 year warranty. This is understandable due to the newer technology but different than the traditional thermostats with perhaps a 5 year warranty.
