As the English do, the key to a good cup of tea is how hot the water is. That was my motivation to buy this product. Hot water heats fast, like the blue light up system to let you know it's on, auto shut off, the kettle itself is portable. Very well made for many years of excellent tea.

I ordered one of these from *******. After waiting 6 weeks (it still had not shipped) I checked on Overstock and they had the same one at a lower price! I cancelled the first one and placed my order here. The kettle arrived w/in days, heats water very fast & I love the blue light that illuminates the kettle when it is heating. If you are in the market for an electric kettle, this is the one!!

I had bought and returned another brand of a hot water kettle and was a bit hesitant to try again, but Overstock, as usual, was very helpful. I am very pleased with this kettle. I use it multiple times a day and have not had a problem with it. It seems very sound and it is really sharp looking. When it is on, the inside is lit up and takes on a blue hue. For the price, I feel like this was the best buy out of all the others I had looked at. I am very pleased with this purchase

This is the perfect electric kettle to make tea ! I upgraded my former stainless steel electric kettle with this one and I LOVE it. It is so convenient. The temperatures are written as well as the kind of tea, 6 preselected buttons : 160F delicate, 175F green, 185F white, 190F oolong, 200F french press and boil black. There is a convenient keep warm feature that allows you to get a second steep. Contrary to some reviews I read, you CAN turn off the kettle by pressing the start button once more while replacing the kettle on its base. You can also turn the blue light off by pressing that button again. You do not need to leave it on your counter while not in use or unplug it. It can sit on the base without being turned on. I guess people just don't read instructions and then complain. We also LOVE the fact that it is a lot quieter than our previous electric kettle and does its job so quickly !!!! Highly recommended. You won't regret spending more to get a well designed, highly efficient and convenient tea kettle !

love my electric kettle. The blue light makes it unique & not just a regular ho-hum kettle. Quick boil save time too!

Purchased two of the Electric Kettle, one for home and the other for the office. Heats up fairly quickly and the added bonus is the illuminated blue light.

We've had this electric kettle for a couple of months now and have used it on a daily basis, multiple times a day to make teas and baby food from scratch. It has worked flawlessly so far and it is fast! It has cool blue LED lights and a "re-boil / keep hot" option (if you forget the kettle and walk away). It is stainless steel on the inside, which is very important to us (you don't want any plastic parts at boiling temperatures because of the toxins released into the water). Our only complaint is that it has a plastic filter at the spout (for loose leaf teas) and the inside of the lid is also plastic. The filter is held in place by a screw that's built into the body of the kettle and a small nut. It took me quite some time (and a bit of pain) to unscrew the nut and remove the filter (the lid opening isn't too wide -- but it's wide enough for cleaning the interior). We keep the lid open to avoid contact of the steam from the boiling water with the plastic. There is also a silicon nub at the bottom that measures the water level. That part is safe from boiling temperatures. Overall, we are very happy with this purchase. We've used cheaper stainless steel kettles in the past but they all broke within a few uses (the automatic shut off went, or they just wouldn't turn on). The built quality on this one seems good. We hope it will last us a few years. Would definitely recommend this kettle to a friend.

The stainless steel surface gets hot, but over all, the ELECTRIC KETTLE heats quickly. . I enjoy the blue light which demonstrates the level of heat and boil.

Unlike the kettle we replaced, the spout can be turned in any direction while on the heating element/plate. With that attribute, and with a longer cord, I can easily avoid steaming the wood cabinets above the counter. Another improvement is the on/off switch flips off when the kettle is taken off the heating element. It seats easily when placing back on the heating plate. Plus, it has a temperature gauge if you want to stop it before boiling (for. e.g., tea). It has a long, soft, blue light (although under the handle, it is still visible). The lid has an easy to use release in the middle silver section, a good safety feature if it were to get knocked over. We've used the kettle daily for a month and are thrilled with it. It also looks sleek. I'm tempted to buy another as a back-up.

Unfortunately, I expected more from this product based on the reviews and picture. This kettle has too much plastic, wich definately downgrades its look. Also, it turns blue only when water is boiling, at the rest it has indefinite plasticly-grayish color. The blue color is only up to the level of the water. And also it takes much longer to boil the kettle in comparison to my old Hamilton Beach

I use this kettle every day and love it. The bubbling blue color is like a little bit of the Northern Lights in my Florida kitchen. It boils water quickly, is very convenient (I can take it off its swivel stand and carry it to the table if I need to) and doesn't take up much room on my counter top. I am pleased....another value from Overstock..thanks!

This is a handy little appliance to have around. It's great to be able to have boiling water in just a few minutes without having to get out a pot and put it on the stove to boil, or using a bowl in the microwave to boil water. It's also cool watching the blue part of the kettle when the water is in there and begins to move around. It's almost like the hypnotic entertainment you get watching a lava lamp.

It has a beautiful blue light that lights upon when it is boiling water. It boils a liter of water really fast so I don't know why others are complaining about it. It is working fine and doesn’t have any dirt at the bottom. I can't find any difference with the taste of my tea as well. I love it. It's fast, beautifully designed and affordable too!!!!

I don't know why some people have complained that the interior is plastic - a lot of my kettles have been plastic all over and there's nothing wrong with that. It means the kettle is doubly insulated and the exterior doesn't get so hot you can't touch it. I'm a Brit. I know all about kettles! I like the blue light to tell you it's on, and the water level indicator. It also looks very elegant. Replaces a Krups kettle which was a disaster, and very dangerous. This seems absolutely fine and I'd recommend it.

I wanted a black and stainless look because I always leave my water kettle out where it is handy. This is attractive and it works great. It lights up blue and you can see the water boiling--very cool! The only little problem I had is that the three rubber feet come out if you slide it across the counter top. A little glue took care of that problem. I think this is a nice appliance for the price.

Bought it on sale at a retail store. Was the second store I went to. First store was out and the second store had one box left. After the sale plus extra discount it was not even close to Overstock price. I rinsed it. Put more water and pressed the Green Tea button and it lit up. Then I waited and nothing. It didn't work. Oh, what's this? A Start button? Press it and it beeped and started blinking. After a while a roar slow built up like a jet engine only with no G-Force. Then it beeped twice and it was done. Ready to be poured into my cup for tea. There is a blue light to light up the water level indicator. There is a nice round and slim base with a retractable cord with a three prong plug. You can toggle the keep warm button on and off so it can keep warm for up to 30 minutes for when have to leave and come back.
