  • Well made but walnut doesn't match the pic

    I like the TV stand, but I don't love it. The good: - Well made - The shelves have vents in them, which makes it easy to run cables and keeps things cool. - It's delivered into your place (when I read the description, it seemed like it would be dropped off at your curb). - Plenty of room for your devices. - Very easy assembly - you just add the chrome parts. The bad: - The color for the walnut is much, much darker than the photo. Seriously, much darker. - The delivery service was at least 6 hours late and they didn't remove the packaging or let me inspect the item. If I'm to be honest, they were quite rude - raided my fridge and bolted. And they ended up showing up at 9 P.M. - There are no cable vents for the center drawers. For the price, it just wasn't what I expected. I didn't adjust the score for the poor delivery because it's not Overstock's fault or a reflection of the product, but the delivery was terrible.

  • Almost perfect...

    The Eldridge entertainment center is made to a very high standard and has a beautiful veneer. The product came packed up really well and was in perfect condition when it arrived. The problems I have with it are in it's dimensions. I planned on modifying the cabinet somewhat so I could use it with my center channel speaker but I didn't realize I would have to go to the extent that I did. The side cabinets are not wide enough or deep enough to fit a standard Denon receiver. I had to remove both front drawers and cut a hole in the back of the middle compartment so I could house my receiver, center channel and route wires out the back. The side compartments are also lacking in shelves so I had to buy some after market shelves so my xbox, mac mini, and networking gear didn't all have to sit on top of each other. It is still very hot in the side compartment so the next mod will be adding in some fans to vent the hot air. After all this I am still very pleased with my purchase. The cabinet looks stunning in my home and is definitely a huge step up in quality from places like Ikea.

It is possible that the remote would work through the doors, but in my experience you would have to open the doors. Normally, the signal is not strong enough to go through a closed door. overstockcustomercare1 on May 11, 2012
 
 
The photo on your site shows the color wenge, but the photo looks very red for wenge. Is the acual product that red? Also, the product details list the color as espresso, not wenge. Which is it? cgtag on Mar 4, 2012
