I bought this ice maker approximately 2-1/2 years ago after our new refrigerator's ice maker couldn't keep up with our needs (a recurring problem). Although my husband was skeptical, it didn't take long for both of us to realize that this was the answer we'd been looking for. Now we don't even use the refrigerator ice maker. We always have plenty of clean tasting, fresh ice. My husband often bags extra ice to take on the river. If this machine ever gives out, I'll immediately buy another. My daughter & son-in-law were so impressed, they bought the identical unit. I would highly recommend this unit.
we purchased this machine to be used by both our childcare center and our church members. It is simple to use, makes plenty of ice quickly, and has had no problems to date. It was very reasonable in price and we use it constantly, at least six days a week.
We purchased this machine for our office. For the first 6 months, it worked great. In month 8, it completely stopped working and smelled like it burned up the motor. Contacted the mnfctr and they said it was no longer on warranty but they would send us a new control unit at no cost we could install ourselves. Uh, no. They sent the unit, but when we got the machine open, there was no way to remove the old unit and install the new one. it was sealed on with silicone and a gasket and we would have had to break part of it to install a new one. Very disappointed. we now have an ice machine that doesn't work and a new control box that we can't install. We'll try a different brand next time.
