We have this ice maker and all of a sudden it won't do anything. The only thing that will happen is that the little scoop that moves the ice out of the tray will start to move, then stops. No water goes in or any other movement. Please help. Is there a manual?

This is more like the first EdgeStar portable ice maker I purchased about 5+ years ago. That one was wonderful & we just loved it, so I had no hesitation in purchasing this one. The last one's fan (which had hard plastic blades) finally wore out & made a terrible noise. So I returned to Overstock & looked up EdgeStar again. We didn't care for the fact that this one was a little more difficult to tell that it needed water. The first one just had a red light that would come on when water should be added. But this machine made plenty of ice for us & at first we were very pleased with it. Then, about a week after having it, a loud noise started occuring during operation. It sounds a lot like the noise our old ice maker made before the fan went out. Since it has gotten louder over the past few days, I regretfully will be returning it. I'm extremely disappointed as I had looked forward to at least another five years of using this wonderful machine.Read More
This ice maker does make ice, although it takes some time to make any great quantity. The ice, even after several cycles, still seems to have an after taste though.Read More

I love this machine, if you don't have an ice maker and have lived with ice trays, you will kick yourself for not buying this item sooner! It is SUPER FAST and keeps making ice all night as long as you need it. No mess, no fuss, just recycles any ice that melts into new ice.Read More
We purchased this as our landlord replaced our fridge with one without an ice maker. It does make ice pretty quickly. The only problem is that you need to empty the ice from the catch basket as soon as it drops in the catch bin. The storage section is not cooled so the ice melts & sticks together if not promptly removed.Read More
This ice maker dumped out ice cubes within ten minutes of plugging it up, exactly as it described in owners manual. Love that you can select three different size ice cubes. Liked it so much, plan to order another one to use in our motorhome.Read More

Just acquired this unit used. Can we run vinegar water thru to get hard water deposits off inside unit? Do we just put water in and open the plug on the side to have it flush out?
Hi pookiekoa1, unfortunately I was unable to confirm this information, sorry for the inconvenience, have a great day!
Is there something wrong with my ice machine? I received this ice machine 2 days ago and gave it a test run on my kitchen counter. I opened the top (cleans it out), filled water to the line, plugged it in, and then turned the power button on. I selected my ice size and heard things churning on the inside. I then waited for about half and hour and nothing happened. I looked up online for trouble shooting problems and went through all of those issues. Nothing seems to be working and I cant get the thing to make ice. Any suggestions?

Can this be plugged into a regular home outlet?
Thank you for contacting us, yes this can be plugged into a standard home outlet. Please let me know if you have any further question.
Is there a temperature setting anywhere on the ice maker? I am very pleased with it's ice making ability, however when the ice tray needs to be emptied, the tray needs to be drained of excess water before emptying in an ice bucket. If the ice bucket is put in the freezer, the ice cubes then freeze together in clumps and need to be pried apart.
Thank you for your inquiry; you will be contacted by Customer Care.
Can this machine be hooked up to a water line..ie..like the ice machine in my refrigerator.
This machine is designed for portable use only.
What is the capacity of the reservoir? Does it have an auto shut off when ice basket gets full? Does it have a timer for auto start or auto stop?
This portable ice maker does have an automatic shut off when the ice basket gets full. The unit does not have a timer for auto start and stop. Once you fill the unit with water, the ice making cycle lasts 6-15 minutes, depending on the size of the ice cubes selected.

Best Ideas for a Cowboy Birthday Party
Plan the perfect cowboy birthday party for your little cowhands and their posse with a Western-themed party. With the right decorations, games and food, you can create a hoedown that your child and his or her friends will remember for years to come. Find cowboy party supplies and crafts for a colossal cowboy party, and don't forget to capture every moment with your camera. Invitations. Create cowboy party invitations that look like "wanted" posters using recycled brown cardstock paper. Print a black-and-white picture of the cowboy or cowgirl of honor in the center and use an old-style font or block lettering. Include the time and place for the round-up on the cowboy party invitations. Use fun phrases such as "howdy partner" and "saddle up for the showdown" for added laughs. Ask guests to come in their favorite cowboy attire, including rugged jeans, flannels and boots. Decorations. For cowboy party decorations, cover tables with red and white tablecloths. Display "wanted" posters of the birthday cowboy or cowgirl throughout the cowboy party room. Add balloons in colors of red, white and blue. Shape strands of rope into lassos and place them on the tables or hang them on chairs. Use bandanas or a Western-themed fabric for place mats. Create large cutouts of cacti, horses and cowboys for decorations. Bales of hay, stalks of corn and other items can add to the cowboy party decorations. Place bottles of water or juice boxes in a wheelbarrow filled with ice for refreshments. Dress up. Costumes and clothing can add to the cowboy birthday party theme. Because all guests may not know each other, give each guest a name tag cut to look like a sheriff's badge. Use silver cardstock cut into star shapes and attach the name tags with safety pins or tape. Provide guests with bandanas in a variety of colors. Give each guest a straw cowboy hat and a water pistol for an authentic cowboy look. Games. Though cowboys can be serious, there is nothing like having several fun games planned for even the roughest, toughest cowboy to enjoy. If you're holding a summer party, tell all cowboys and cowgirls to bring their swimsuit for a shoot-out using water pistols. Have a galloping contest; use brooms as pretend ponies and have races to see whose horse is the fastest. Old-fashioned potato-sack jumping contests are easy to assemble. Hold a boot toss contest: Have children toss bean bags, gold coins or other cowboy party supplies into an old pair of worn cowboy boots. Food. Create an old-fashioned homemade spread, complete with a cowboy party cake. Barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs or sloppy joes are always a favorite for little cowboys and cowgirls. Salsa and chips, beef jerky and even pulled pork sandwiches are additional ideas. Corn on the cob and cornbread are traditional cowboy staples. Create a cowboy party cake in the shape of a hat, pony or boot to continue the theme. Goodie bags. Thank each guest for coming by giving them a galvanized pail filled with cowboy party favors. Fill each pail with a small amount of straw or hay. Add trail mix, gold coins and licorice rope to each pail. Tie pieces of raffia or fabric for additional decoration to the pail's handle. For other cowboy party favors, consider purchasing small plastic harmonicas, sheriff badges and cowboy figurines. View All Crafts Back to Guides Directory View All Crafts
