When you pay $700 for a product - you expect it to have good performance and reliability. Everything with the cooler was satisfactory until 14 months into use it stopped cooling - which is a big problem for a refrigerator. I contacted the manufacturer and they indicated this is a frequent problem. So frequent that they're sending me a video on how I can replace the part myself for $$ + s&h. I replied that was all well and good - except that when I pay a large amount of money, the least they could so is send me a replacement part for free. They disagreed and told me they were "doing me a favor" since now I don't have to call a repair man. Doing me a favor? Let's be serious. Doing me a favor would be not selling a product that has such poor reliability that a video has to be made because the issue is so frequent that a large number of customers will be faced with this issue. Edgestar does not stand by their product and I will never buy any of their products again.
What a shame great looking is the only good thing I can say about Edgestar Wine/Beverage Cooler. In less than two years we purchased two different models and both stopped working within a year. The worst thing about these units, in most cases they cant be repaired. Be sure to purchase the extended warranty.
