My mom had asked for some garden accents for mother's day. I came across this globe and thought it would be perfect. When it came, I immediately took it out of the box to inspect it. I was shocked to see that it was just a globe - there's nothing to put it on, stand it on, or even suggestions on what to do with it. I thought at least the bottom would be flat so that it could stand alone, but it's not. I looked at Home Goods for some sort of base to put it on, but I couldn't find anything. I'm still not even sure where you would put this without it blowing over or falling off if a bird or squirrel sat on it. That was my first issue. The second big disappointment is that the "glow in the dark beads" have started to come off (another customer mentioned this too). It looks cheap and for almost $$$ I expected a lot more. I was embarrassed giving this to my mom and would highly recommend not purchasing this globe.

I really was surprised when I got this item. It is not the greatest of illuminarie globes like I had thought. It was hollow and very light in weight. I almost was afraid to put it outside since it seemed so fragile. It didn't glow like the listing states, it is just a glass ball with colors in it. I didn't think it was worth the money.

I wanted something to give as a gift to my daughter-in-law for her birthday. She and my son had just put in a new elevated garden. So, even though I read the negative review on the purple luminary ball, I took a chance and ordered this one (ocean mist). She loves it and the way it glows after dark. Go ahead and take a chance.

this is really a pretty globe, It does not glow at night like i thought it would, but it is definelty a good addition to my landscaping. very pretty

The globe arrived in excellent condition and is pleasing enough to look at in daylight. However, if you are hoping for a dramatic glowing display after dark, then I'm afraid you'll be quite disappointed. For that reason, I cannot recommend it.

This is AWESOME. I never write reviews, but if you want a really cool, interesting night time garden object, this is it!! It's just as pretty in the day!! I leave it on my deck. I think it would make a really wonderful gift, too!!

This was a total joke...never saw a glow on this thing. But the return policy with overstock was an awesome experience...Love Overstock...

it is anchored over the waterfall with the sculpted rocks and shells. it glows at night.

The photo of this globe looks great! When I pulled it out of the box it actually looked like an ugly plastic beach ball, though. And as for glowing in the dark - unfortunately it just doesn't! What a disappointment! Don't fall for that lovely photo and "glowing" product description.

it's a beautiful addition to my garden, the envy of all who see it.

This is a basic vari-colored glass globe that has material (like tiny styrafoam beads) inside. I assume these are what makes the globe "glow" but after several weeks, and many days with a minimum of 6 hours direct sunlight, we have yet to see any indication whatsoever of the nighttime glow. We opted to keep the globe as it looks okay, but mostly because it's just not worth the trpuble to return it.

Color of the globe is just like the picture during the day, it is in full sun all day, but it does not glow in the dark.

Would not purchase again as it does not illuminate.
