lacking in quality and shipping damage
Appearance-wise, the item was exactly as advertized. My issues are with the quality of construction: I was under the impression that the only veneer would be on the MDF seat; not so. Items were shipped UPS ground from CA to the East coast, and while the box was in reasonable shape, the packaging was extremely poor, and the veneer on the back of one of the two chairs is chipped in one corner -- it's a small chip, but very noticeable. There were also multiple scratches on the chair legs - but these had to be straight from the factory (just by virtue of how they were positioned in the box) The overall quality is marginally -ok, but since the packaging is poor, it is very likely that the items will be damaged during any shipping scenario I can think of. I'd probably have rated it with 4 stars if the veneer had not been chipped. This was a test, as I was considering the full dining set - but now I won't go ahead with the purchase and will look for something better.

Poor quality. When arrived every one of the 6 six chairs were damaged. Did not appear to be damage during shipping but prior to packaging as well as manufacturing defects. Very disappointed in the product we received- sent all 6 chairs back for a refund as they were not usable.

Walnut lattice back chairs
These chairs are beautiful. They are very sturdy, look great with our pine table, are comfortable even for large behinds. I would heartily recommend them for any decor in your dining room.

Fine Chairs
A fine chair, honest, and sits well. Very comfortable. Easy to assemble, and while it is physically light, it doesn't suffer too much for it. Don't rock in them, the weakest part seems to be the seat-to-back connection, but it is not problematic or anything. We like the chairs and they work for a 3-meal a day, constant use family with small children.

- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Sturdy, easy to assemble, no marks or damage, a little light in weight, but not so bad. Back seems a mild bit flimsy, but overall is strudy...don't rock in it. Very attractive though, excellent staining.

Great looking upgrade for the dining room!
I love these chairs. We needed to update our dining room (we had old wing-back Americana-style chairs), but wanted to keep our medium-finished oak dining table. All other chairs were too dark. I would define the finish on these as a dark-medium. The lattice back design makes them more architectural, modern, and clean-looking. They were fairly easy to assemble - just had to screw the seat, back, and front legs together with the screws, nuts, and allen wrenches provided. One chair back (I bought 6) was damaged - I called customer service and then sent a replacement part right away.

Great table but could use thicker Urethane coat
We own the Athens Walnut table and 8 chairs. The table and chairs are beautiful and fit the description and picture from the site. I like that they are heavy and sturdy. My only problem is that the wood can scratch/get dinged easily. If it had a thicker coating of Urethane or other protective coating it would look nicer longer. We are hoping to find a product to put on the scratches/dings to help conceal them. To be clear these scratches/dings are from use. One chair had a ding in shipping but the rest of the chairs and table looked great when they arrived. The worker who delivered the product was very helpful.
