Very disappointed
I purchased the E.C.O. mattress from Overstock based of the overwhelmingly positive customer comments I saw on Overstock's website. What a mistake! The mattress was delivered late. It had a made proudly in America sticker on the box even though it was clearly listed as being made in China! The mattress came in a pasted over box with no backup paperwork, instructions or receipt. It looked like the box had been opened several times previously. The mattress I received is a piece of crap, it has no bounce like real latex. It feels like sleeping on concrete. I bought a 3" topper with the mattess, because the reviews said it was firm. Even with the 3" topper, my wife and I wake up every morning with intense back pain from the mattress. We get absolutely no orthopedic support or pressure relief from this mattress. Our old worn out extra firm mattress with the topper feels infinitely better than the E.C.O. mattress. Because of Overstock's no return policy, I am now stuck with a worthless 70 pound mattress and am out my $$$$ dollars. I wonder if Overstock only shows overwhelmingly positive reviews in order to entice people to buy the products it's selling.

This Bed Saved My Body
I could only consider Latex for a mattress. I had one of the high-end 100% latex mattresses that now sell for $2100+. Greatest bed in the history of sleep. But after 14 years, it just wore out. It had no sponge factor and had been thru a lot with moves and storage at times. For months my shoulders were jammed. Horrible but finances prevented me from getting a new mattress. And getting a 100% Talalay is not an option for me financially for rest of this decade. What to do? Research and reading reviews for two months online.... I decided on this 10 inch ECO mattress. I was not thrilled that it had only 2 inches of latex (after having 100% latex). There was a sale + a coupon that saved me $95 so I went for it. Bed delivered in a reasonable period of time; in good condition; People say it's heavy. Try moving a talalay mattress. People say the ECO is FIRM. I can't even call it that. It isn't a firm mattress; it's like a board. I was going to sleep on it at least one night without a THREE INCH FOAM TOPPER just to see how the bed is by itself. No way would I consider sleeping on this bed without the topper. But with the topper??? HEAVEN. It is absolutely perfect. I am very happy. I had the foam topper on the sagging old latex mattress and the topper sagged in the middle of the bed and was just tooooo soft (but it kept me out of traction till I could afford a new mattress). The topper on the ECO is heaven....it's the perfect combination. I love firm... but I need softness and cush as well. I am very happy. (and I thank everyone who reviewed this bed -- positive and negative ratings. It really helped me.)

Best purchase ever made
I would highly recommend this mattress to anyone. If you are like me and get back aches from fluffy pillow top mattresses then this one is for you. I am on a budget and was fearful that I might have to spend top dollar for a latex mattress and after I read the reviews for the 8 inch mattress I bought this one (10 inch). I have it on a platform bed frame and it looks attractive. The firmness is what my back craves. I really feel as if I won the lottery with this purchase.

great mattress
I was a little leery ordering a mattress on-line without being able to test it, but boy am I glad i did. This mattress replaced my name brand memory foam mattress, which was starting to lose its' firmness and at times made me feel like I was sleeping in a pit. The latex gives in much the same way the memoryfoam did, but is not heat sensitive, so bounces right back. I like a firm mattress, and do not use any toppers like some other folks. I felt better immediately, and actually had an improvement in my bad knee which I did not expect. it turns out some of my knee problems must have been from the heat sensitivity of the memory foam causing the knee to sink bit. You won't go wrong with this mattress, and at this price if it doesn't last 20 years, who cares?

The bed is meh
I purchased this item with high hopes of receiving a comfortable and eco friendly bed for my pregnant girlfriend and I to sleep on, what I got was an uncomfortable rock. I heard that this bed was stiff, but it is beyond that. It seems more like the bottom part of a bed before they add the soft top part that touches human parts. After months of trying to make this thing comfortable with additional blankets I have ordered a topper; hopefully that will make this a finished product. I would not recommend this bed to anyone, even those that like firm beds. I like firm beds but there is no way to be comfortable on this thing.

Pretty good
This is a good product and it is better than any other mattresses. Product delivered on time. The cover of the mattress had pretty poor quality, but firmness of the mattress and it has been 3 years, but firmness still good.

"Firm" is the key word here
We bought this mattress roughly a year ago. We have been trying to like it (considering the money we spent) but alas, have given up. Like others we wanted a latex type mattress after having tried some major brands in local stores but didn't want to pay the high price. This mattress is VERY firm. It does not have much give at pressure points. My wife and I both get backaches by morning on a mattress that isn't just right for us. We are in our 50's so maybe our backs are getting a little sensitive. We have tried a 2" latex topper, and a 2" high density memory foam topper, but no combination worked well. If you look at consumer reviews, they recommend you buy a mattress after trying it for at least 15 minutes. They generally do not rate actual mattresses, just companies. It is very subjective, as some will be better off with firm, some with soft. Anyway, we just bought a new mattress for considerably more money locally, with a trial policy, and are hoping for a better result. Our latex mattress has been moved to the guest room. Again, the key word here is FIRM. Good luck!

Love this mattress!
I *love* this mattress. I like firm mattresses, and I probably wouldn't recommend this one if you don't like firm mattresses. It came vacuum packed and rolled up in a box, and I thought it would never be firm enough for me, but I was wrong. It's nice and firm and very comfortable.

Very Very Happy with This Bed!
Love this Bed! I like a firm mattress...and this one is firm. Im a big guy and spring mattresses tend to be great at first then rapidly turn into saggy messes. I waited to post on this so my review could be complete and fair! This mattress is super firm...but comfortable. I followed the advice of other posters on here and ordered a 3 inch memory foam topper which I have also reviewed. This is one awesome sleep experience! I normally toss and turn and fidget all night long...rarely sleeping through the night....Now...I sleep like a baby and literally do not tear up the covers anymore...I get up and simply pull up the covers! My significant other has slept over several times...and sleeps like a baby as well...not even waking up when I get up in the morning....the bed doesn't move! And as is rarely discussed on here...the bed is pretty good for sex but being a all foam product....antics on the side of the bed are a bit impaired as it does not have a metal wire support frame along the edge. Easy enough to compensate for! Heheh So buy it! You will sleep great! And your love fife will continue to be just fine! :-) BTW...I have several friends who are purchasing this same bed as you just cant beat the price and its awesome on the metal frame that Overstock also sells!

Good support for lower back, springy and very firm
This mattress is exactly very very firm and springy, as the other reviews have said. However, for me it suits perfectly because I've been sleeping on a too soft mattress for a year and started to have lower back pain. The first night I slept on this mattress, I noticed right away that the next morning my lower back pain has been subsided. Now I have it for almost 2 weeks, and my lower back pain has been completely gone. One thing though, sometimes I slept on the side, and the circulation in my arm has been cut off, so I ordered a Comfort Dream 1"memory foam from Overstock (4lbs.), and put on top of my new mattress. Now it's a little heaven on my mattress, I feel so rested and no pain.I like the feeling of sleeping on a very firm mattress, and with a topper you get enough softness, but not the sinking feeling of memory foam. So, for people who like to sleep on a very very firm mattress, you won't be disappointed in this purchase.
