I've been using the mattress for a few weeks now and it has softened very slightly although it is definitely a very firm bed. The bed arrived within 2 weeks, had no smell and was usable the first night. I'm still ordering a mattress topper that I hope will soften the feel a little bit but even without I've been sleeping on the bed just fine and my back has been feeling much better since the switch. I used a 7% discount coupon and with the already cheap price of the bed was better then I could find anywhere else (total cost was around $600 after taking into account disposal of the old mattress). Compared with over a thousand for a comparable mattress elsewhere. The mattress seems well made and is what I expected out of a latex mattress (cool, conforms to the body but not excessively so). It's too early to tell how long it will last but everything else about it has been great, just be sure you know that you are getting a very firm mattress. Oh and I felt the cover for the mattress wasn't aesthetically pleasing but it's covered by sheets so that doesn't matter.

Prompt delivery from Overstock! We love our new mattress. It was easy for me to assemble by myself, and we've loved sleeping on it. It's definitely firm, but our backs like that.

I love extra firm mattresses. I cannot sleep on pillowtops are anything too soft. I am a stomach sleeper so I need a firm surface. However, this bed is as hard as the floor. I didn't know that mattresses came as hard as this one here and is way too hard even for me. It shocks me that other reviewers use words like luxurious in reference to this mattress. I could not sleep on it for even one night. The first night I actually had to get up at 2:30am and blow up an air mattress to put on top of this latex mattress because it was so hard I couldn't sleep. I then had to go purchase a 3 inch soft latex topper which cost me an additional $300.00. With the topper, the bed is now still very firm but comfortable. Just be aware that you are getting a bed that is hard as a rock when you purchase this mattress.

I've had this mattress about a month now on a platform bed, and I'm very impressed. This is my first foam mattress, and I find it more comfortable than conventional innerspring mattresses. Latex is a better topping layer than memory foam--it is more resilient, i.e., recovers much better so you don't feel like you're sunk in one spot. I bought a couple of latex pillows to match, and the comfort is as good as it gets. My arthritic back feels better--less stiff in the morning--as long as I sleep on my back. The latex conforms perfectly to your contour. Soft and yet firm. The feeling is luxurious, and the price is unbeatable for the quality.
