  • This vacuum sucks

I've always been skeptical of the claims. No vacuum could suck up to consumers like Dyson said it could. Then my sister and OCD-driven bro-in-law got one of these. I visited them, and was so impressed that I immediately bought one when I got home. Yes, it's worth the $$. Here's why: 1. No cord. I found that this was a blocking issue for me with other small vacs. Even though they were small, it was an effort to drag them out and plug them in. The Dyson hangs on a wall and I can be using it in 3.7 seconds. Awesome. 2. Dumping the bin is as simple as it gets. Hold it over the trash can, hit the lever and done. It takes maybe 5.7 seconds, when you factor in getting to the trash can. 3. This thing will reach places I never would have believed. It gets almost parallel to the floor, so I can reach under a low couch or bed. And the swivel head gives it even more flexibility. The 'downside'? The battery life is 'only' 15 minutes. I've never reached that max. If you're worried, vacuum for 15 minutes, charge it, then vacuum again. :-)

The only proplem that I see with this unit is that it really doesn't work well on carpets. It is not a good multifloor vacuum for this reason. I boughl it mainly for use on wood floors. For someone with a lot of carpet I would not recomend this product.

  • For your light vacuum needs!

I love this vac to a point, I would have to improve the trigger. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. A better trigger with a lock on function similar to a drill trigger. Squeeze trigger and press lock button for constant on, squeeze trigger again to release lock feature. I will accept any sort of compensation from Dyson for my input, thank you! P.S. upgrade my unit with new trigger first please!

    • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Not the same, it's electric blue on the site. The one I received was more of a purple!

  • Great little vacuum

At 65 year of age the big vacuums are so hard to pull out, but the little light weight one does a big job. So easy to use and great for quick jobs. Love it, for all room from kitchen to bath to bed rooms . Worth every penny. Thank you

  • awesome machine

I realize that, for a cordless vac, this is an up-price machine. And I do understand some of the reviews that did not like having to hold the "on" button all the time while using, but I actually like that feature, it keeps from being tempted to pause or stop, the machine keeps running, and the battery runs down. And as for the battery, yes, you only get 15 minutes or so of time, but that is all you need. I have mostly solid surface flooring in my home, and have pets (cats), so I get "tumbleweeds" (those little tufts of fur that roll around in the slightest breath of air) all the time, especially now in the warmer months. So I use the machine each day, run it around the house quickly, picking up the tumbleweeds, and the battery life is just the right time. I usually vac while the coffee is brewing in the morning (I work from home) or while dinner is cooking in the evening, and the battery time is plenty (it has not run out of juice while using, yet, it has always been enough for what I want to use it for). It is, after all, a cordless and is NOT designed to replace a full upright (which I haul out every weekend and vacuum my throw rugs and small carpeted areas). For a cordless, there is incredible power (it is better than my old cheap upright that I have had for years), so the fact that its heavier than a normal little cordless is fine, it is a super strong machine for a cordless. There is a bit of a learning curve, and its a good thing! I am so accustomed to every few feet having to turn around and whip the cord forward to dislodge it from getting tucked under furniture or around a corner (I have an older home and outlets are few and far between, a corded vac needs 3-4 plug locations to do even a quick once over). Especially on stairs (no nearby plus in my house, stairs vacuuming was always a hassle)... I was so used to turning around every step or two to jiggle the court and move up another stair, then unplug and haul the corded vac upstairs and vac the other half way down...argh...I hated vac of the stairs. Now, its a breeze. I guess all I can say is the other things folks don't like... the must-hold power button, the weight... those are aspects that are a must that give it the power and ability to be better-than-ok as a cordless, so I have no issue with those things. and all I can think of, now, is if this CORDLESS is so great, I can only imagine what a Dyson corded vac performs like. Price point is a huge factor on all Dysons, and I have to say based on this machine, they are worth every penny. so right now...I am saving my pennies to buy a Dyson corded... I LOVE this machine and am confident I will love any Dyson. thanks Overstock! for making it more affordable for me.

  • Love it!

This is a terrific product. I use it often to collect dust bunnies and dry spills. I have cleaners who come every other week, so they take care of the main vacuuming. This is for the small jobs that make you crazy thinking of dragging out the big vacuum. Okay... it's not inexpensive... but I do think it's great!

  • poor design

I have wanted a Dyson for years and was thrilled when Overstock had the cordless model on sale! When it arrived and I used it for the very first timer, I saw two very noticeable flaws. The first: there is no ON switch that remains in the on position. That means I must hold the switch in the ON position the entire time I use the machine. I am 63 and this is not easy to do. The muscles in my fingers and forearm became tire soon. The second: The motor is located at the top of the vacuum. Again, this is a problem because I used it to vacuum three floors and could not do so without taking a break to give my hand and arm a rest from the weight of the motor. If you are young, healthy and have endurance, it is good. I do not recommend buying this for a person who is over 50 or who is not strong enough to hold 5 lbs for 30 minutes or more.

  • Okay product, overpriced however

Works well. However it is best used on non-carpeted floors. I think it is over priced for the use. Good for quick clean ups.

  • Good vacuum but the "on" button should stay on!

It's a good and very portable vacuum, except for the fact that the on button needs to be continuously pressed for the vacuum to stay on - don't understand why it's designed so.
