We're a two-cat family and our old Miele was on its last legs, so after a lot of research we bought this vacuum. It was a pain to put together (really bad directions) but you wouldn't believe the amount of crud it dredged up when we turned it loose on carpet that we had considered fairly clean. And no, it doesn't scratch hardwood floors - all you do is press a button to disable the brush mechanism and off you go (the salesman who told this lie wanted me to buy his $800 Miele). Nor is it particulary noisy (after all, it is a vacuum). And it's easy to empty the cannister, too (say goodby to those expensive, messy bags that the dirt poofs out of when you put them in the trash). Is it possible to be deliriously happy with a vacuum? YES, if it's a Dyson.
I got this vacuum a couple months ago but was a little skeptical because I have mostly hard wood floors and wasn't sure how good it would work versus a canister vacuum. I was pleasantly surprised with how great it worked. I highly recommend this vacuum for people with all types of flooring. It is easily moved with the ball. I am amazed and also a bit disgusted everytime I vacuum to see how much dirt and hair this vacuum picks up. If you are not sure about which vacuum to get, get this one. You will not be disappointed.
I am very pleased with my new Dyson. It came clean. Looked brand-new. I got the one for pets considering I have two dogs that shed. Definitely worth it. Love the way it handles - so easy. Light-weight. Easy to carry up and downstairs. I won't be without one ever again.
Wonderful vacuum at a spectacular price! Easy to use, alot lighter then I expected, simple to operate with great accessories. Really picked up alot that my old vac never would have gotten to. Cave in and invest in a Dyson...you won't be sorry!! I had a question and the staff at overstock.com was absolutely wonderful to work with!!!
We live in the country and have two big dogs that are in and out all day. Have had several other brands of vacuums but nothing compares to the Dyson. It gets up all the hair, dirt, leaves, etc. that the dogs bring in. It's very easy to handle. I love it!!!
