This vacuum is an excellent vaccumm, except if you have Shag carpet. This vaccum does not have a pile height adjustment, so it is really hard to push on shag carpet. I have also read multple reviews of how this carpet ruins or makes your carpet fuzzy. I have used my vacuum once on my shag new carpet and 1) I could barely move it on the carpet, and 2) it resulted in a big ball of fuze in the canister. Also I tried vacuuming with the brush head off, it was still really hard to push around. On my old carpet it worked fine, and I have used it on hardwood and tile floors. I was happy with it until I got new carpet and now have to buy a new vacuum after paying $***+ for this one.

This Dyson 25 is the best vaccuum I have ever owned. I've had a Kirby which was incredibly heavy to carry up and down stairs and difficult to use the shampoo attachments. I've also had an Oreck which claims to have the ability hold a bowling ball. HA! It would push little fuzz balls around and not pick them up. This Dyson is absolutely the best ever!! I can't believe the stuff it gets out of my carpet. We have a dog who sheds a lot, but with my new Dyson, my dusting has been reduced to once a week instead of every day. I love it and would recommend it to anyone!!!!

I love this machine. Love it. I recommended it to my mother and now she has one, too. The hose is stiff to pull out when you use the attachments as other reviewers have said but it does loosen up some as you use it. Also it has a nice long hose with the attachments which is nice because I have 14 foot ceilings. I have a dog and pergo floors with an area rug and carpeted bedrooms. It switches back and forth with the press of a button. The first time I used it I kept filling the collection bin until everything was super clean. You will be shocked at what it pulls out. After I got it all clean that first time it only takes about ten minutes now to do the whole house a couple of times a week.

This is a great, lightweight vacume. I use it on hardwood, ceramic, and carpet. With three animals and three kids it has been a godsend. The only complaint I have is that the cord and hose attachment is to short.

We've had this for about 8 months now and it is the best vacuum ever. We have 2 dogs and this picks up so much of the hair and never gets clogged. Our carpet almost looks new after using it. I LOVE my Dyson!

I love Dyson vacuums. With three large dogs in the house, we vacuum all the time. The price was great and I believe I got free shipping. This replaced the same model I had previously that was wearing out after several years of heavy use. My husband loves the roll ball as it really is easy to get around corners and under things. So easy to put together. Took about 3 minutes! Definitely recommend. Just a note - the vacuum I purchased was new and not refurbished. You can get refurbished for a little bit cheaper but I thought the cost savings was not worth buying refurbished versus new. Just my 2 cents!

This vacuum is easy to push and swivels as needed so I don't have to work so hard. I've been wanting a dyson since so many friends have recommended it to me. Thanks to Overstock.com I was able to get it and hope that it will work for a long time.

Don't be concerned with the price - the dyson 25 is awesome. I could not believe the amount of fine dirt I got out of my carpets - even after I just used my old vacuum. The cord is a little short, but I love how it doesn't suck up throw rugs like most sweepers. SOOOOO glad I sprung for a new vacuum

As others have noted, when I got my machine I immediately vacuumed my supposedly clean carpets and got a ton more yuck out of them! The machine is easy to use, quieter than my old Hoover, and it is so nice to be able to go from carpet to hardwood to carpet without a hassle. My husband is facinated by the ball technology and actually vacuums the floors now!

I have purchased many items online ranging in price from $10 to $1,000. and this is the first time I have ever completed a review. I rely mostly from reviews for quality and even troubleshooting. Sometimes there are many review and sometimes just a few. I weed out the ones from angry people and those who just got a bad item. Reviews are very helpful. Unfortunately not in the case of the Dyson DC25 Upright vacuum. The suction power is poor and yes( in agreement to a few reviews) the plastic which it is made of is flimsy. I suggest if you are going to try you should buy at local store that you can easily return if you are not satisfied.

I ordered the vacuum online the day after Thanksgiving and was surprised to receive it a few days later. I ran it over an area thatIe had just vacuumed the day before. It pulled up even more dirt and I thought that portion of the carpeted floor was clean. I also love that it is compact, relatively light (well compared to the old one) and the noise level was tolerable even for my sensitive ears. You can activate the beaters for the carpeted areas and turn it off for others. Loved that it was very easy to empty and easy to maneuver. That bright yellow ball just makes me smile. I love this futuristic technologically advanced vacuum. I normally would not have appreciated a vacuum for a gift but this one is definitely the exception.

So far so good -am pleased with the vacuum. Amazed at how much pet hair it picks up after the rugs were vacuumed with an Oreck machine.

Love this vacuum! Well worth buying the new one as the refurbished one is only a few dollars less. The stuff that came up with this vacuum really suprised me. I thought my house was clean but now I'm sure it is. I've only had it for a couple of weeks but I am very pleased with it.

Was not sure I was going to like this vacuum at first because it was so easy to push and it didnt leave the heavy vacuum marks that I was use to seeing with my old vacuum. But after I was done the truth was in the canister. I even saved it to show my husband who didnt think we needed a new vacuum. He was impressed also. We have to dogs that seem to shed all year. With are old vacuum if you woudl lay on the floor after it was just vacuumed you would still get hair on your clothes. Not with this sucker.

This is a very well designed vacuum. I spent a little more for the DC 25 as I had read other ratings about other Dyson vacuums stating the front of the machine was too thick to fit under built in cabinets etc. I am NOT disappointed in my choice. This vacuum easily goes under the cabinet overhangs and under the coffee table. The canister is very easy to use and to empty. I haven't really used the extender wand thing that everyone seems to think is too stiff so I can't comment. Overall this is a MUCH better product than my old Hoover which I had to take apart and fix it almost every time I used it because the belt would work itself off. I've been using this one for about a month now and it seems like a great product.

I bought this vacuum as a gift for my son to replace a vastly inferior vacuum that he had been using. He unpacked and assembled it with no problem and found it very easy to use. He cleaned his apartment the first time using every attachment that was provided. He said he was very surprised by the power of this Dyson and how easy it is to maneuver into tight spaces. Cleanup is easy as well. He has not needed to change the filter yet but said that it looked to be a straightforward process based on the instructions. I am sure that he will be using this vacuum for quite a few years to come. The price for this item at Overstock made it quite a bargain.
