technology helps capture microscopic dust keeping floors cleaner
16-foot wand I already have an upright dyson but when overstock had the DC23 at a sale price, I thought I would take the plunge and buy it for myself. First of all, it is heavier than an upright. It takes some time getting used to but I feel like it has more suction power than the upright. Also, I love how the whole head can vacuum underneath my bed. I don't think I've vacuumed that area for over two years since who really is going to move a whole queen sized bed? I don't know if it's just me, but the air quality in my bedroom has improved. The look of my 2-yr-old carpet has improved. When I did take the DC23 out of the box, the part where you wrap the coil around was out of place and it did take me a couple of days to figure out how to put it back in place. When I figured that out, the vacuum didn't get stuck behind obstacles as much. I also love vacuuming my stairs with this machine. I just pull it up and it follows me. It sits perfectly on the step until I need to bring it up. The only drawbacks to this vacuum is that the coil does need to be uncoiled carefully otherwise it bends and there's no suction. And I feel like it might break but it hasn't so that always good. :) Also, on the stair tool, the red lint remover (I think that's what its called) started peeling off. I guess I need to glue it back into place but really that shouldn't happen since I have had this vacuum for less then 3 months. One more positive aspect of this stowaway vac is that I can keep it in my closet and it doesn't interfere with my clothes. Much better than a regular canister vac. I would also recommend finding a deal for this vacuum. It's not ever necessary to pay full price and there seems to be plenty of places offering it cheaper than the sticker price. Hope this review helps.
I love my Dyson DC23 Stowaway Canister Vacuum. It is important to me to have all attachments at hand and be able to go straight from the carpet to the top of the ceiling or door quickly and back to the floor or carpet again with the appropriate attachment. I dust as I clean, from top to bottom. The Dyson suction is phenomenal and the filter is easy to clean. Not everyone will like having a canister. I once owned an upright vacuum and quickly sold it; I would not own one again as I love the way the Dyson cleans and it is easily stored. I also bought the brush for blinds and use it on not only blinds but furniture as it is soft and the size makes it a breeze to dust. If you like a canister vacuum, I highly recommend getting the Dyson. You won't be disappointed! My adult daughter used it and said "it rocks!" What more can I say?
This is my second dyson canister so you know it must be good. Although it is pricey, it works really well. I have two dogs and a cat and need to vacuum often. This machine gets up all of the pet hair. Because I have a two story house, I have one upstairs and one downstairs so I don't have to keep lugging it around. The only drawback to this machine is that the canister is small. I have a very small house, and still I must empty it during each vacuuming.....sometimes twice, and I vacuum twice a week. Still, this is the best vacuum I have owned. Even better than the uprights that I found heavy and awkward.
I LOVE THIS VACUUM! I've settled for mediocre, cheap vacuums over the years. My workplace has a Miele and I've used that, but it isn't very powerful. I bought a new home and decided I was tired of having a bad vacuum and treated myself to this Dyson Stowaway. I wish I had done it years ago. I have 2 dogs, 3 cats, a husband and a son, so my floors get really dirty. This vacuum gets all the hair, crumbs, rocks, cat & dog food, everything. It makes my carpet look brand new. It was tricky putting it together the first time - we actually had to look at the manual because it wasn't obvious. The one drawback is the hose isn't very long. I'm 5'3" so it's ok for me, but if you're a tall person, you'll be bending to vacuum. Maybe they sell longer hoses?
I purchased Dyson vacuum cleaner after reading reviews and advertising about its suction power. Suction power of this vacuum is highly overrated and in fact it is worse than my old Kenmore canister. The rotating brush helps the cleaning to be a little more effective, but as soon as it is turned off for floors the vacuum barely picks up regular dust. Not what I expected from a vacuum cleaner that is priced nearly $500.00. I have noticed that dust gets accumulated in one area in the canister and this creates clogging. Lots of dust comes out when emptying canister, so if you have allergies your would be out of luck. The hose is soft and bends often, which blocks the air and thus stops suction. My advice is stay away from this vacuum cleaner and purchase something cheaper but reliable. This machine doesn't leave to its advertising.
