This item works very well. The performance of all aspects of this vaccum is better than expected. The canister holds a lot of dirt and doesn't require frequent dumping. With a push of a button...the cord storage works excellent. The hose is a little awkward to store.

I was amazed at the quality of the product. Not even scratches. The clear plastic part also seemed new to me. I liked that the product was shipped in a plain brown box because I was afraid someone might steal a big box that said "Dyson" on it!

I will never be without a Dyson again. When I first bought one a few years ago my husband gave me a hard time because we had vacuflow in our house. But he got very quiet when I showed him what had come out of the rugs in one cleaning and hasn't complained about any of them since ; ) It should be remembered that you cannot empty these vacs often enough, they work so well when they are empty and it only takes a second to remove and dump and snap back in; literally less than 30 seconds when you've got the system down pat. This unit works fine with only one glitch. The brush roller makes a loud vibrating sound when using it on bare floors. Need to figure out what is causing that problem and will need to contact Dyson to solve the problem. No complaints otherwise. Love Dysons.

• Please tell us about the quality of the product. I own an upright Dyson animal as well. This cannister as well as the upright animal version but then realized I needed the canister version to get into allow me to get into shallow vertical spaces like under the bed.. where the dogs usually sleep.

I bought this vacuum for my daughter's apartment. She is a college student and I wanted her to have a decent vacuum. This one is great. It does not take up to much space yet sturdy enough for a college student.

This is my second Dyson. My old one got shipped off to one of my adult sons. It was about 10 years old and the only reason I got a new one is because this model is lighter and I needed a lighter vacuum. The suction is great, it gets everything on the floor. Great purchace

By looking at it you'd have no idea this was a refurbished vacuum and I'm amazed at how much it can pull out of the carpet and rugs. Easy to use/move around and empty. The only negative comment I have is that the canister doesn't have a very good mechanism for securing the handle to the base for storage and it easily 'falls off'.

I was a little wary of buying a dyson at such a low price and refurbished. It turned out to be absolutely perfect and runs fantastic. We bought this as a gift, but I plan on getting one for myself!

Strong vacuum, easy to use. Not easy to shift around on steps, but then few are. Easy to turn and maneuvre, nice and light but still powerful. Just what we wanted.

I love it!!!! Although it does not have a motorized head, it still works like one. The suction is incredible. Easy to put together, easy to handle, easy to maneuver, easy to clean...I used to own the animal upright and although it is a great machine, it was just too hard to maneuver when just using the attachments; especially on hard wood floors, it kept falling over and just too much to lug around. I own two dogs that shed horribly and this little machine works wonders!!!! Be careful on some throw rugs, however. Note: Always keep the turbo (on the side of the head), wiped off clean of hair or debri for the head will start acting up. Otherwise, this is a great canister and I will never own another vacuum cleaner after purchasing the Dyson DC23 Animal Canister.

This was a gift for my daughter with 4 children ages 8 to 2 years old. One of the children has asthma. This vacuum is lightweight making it easy for her 5 year old to help with the cleaning of her floors. She states that the children have become more responsible for cleaning up. She stated that her house is cleaner than it has been in a while.

This Dyson was an upgrade for me. I had a DC14 for years and since I have no carpet in my house, I was using the hose all the time. A canister vacuum is a better fit for me and the Dyson DC23 did not disappoint! It is quieter than my previous Dyson and it is easier to maneuver. The attachments are docked and easy to access. I really like the push button cord reel. I have 2 pets and long hair and the Dyson handles it all perfectly. It is easier to bring upstairs and I think the suction is more powerful than the older model.

I have been a happy Dyson customer for 10 years (my iniital Dyson the DC01 is still operational and will be used in the basement family room). The addition of a pet and a larger house with mostly carpet, I wanted a new vaccuum with more fllexibility when it came to stairs and under furniture etc. Budget concious, it was more economical to purchase the refurbished Dyson DC23 and add the protection plan for two years then to purchase a new Dyson. The Dyson DC23 was easy to put together, it is extremely light weight, easy to manuver under furniture and works great on the stairs. When I removed it from the box, I could not find any signs that it was refurbished. Very pleased with the Dyson DC23. Now if only I could get my teenage son to use it!

Too much suction => sucks We were very excited about our Dyson but found out it just has too much suction for our newly installed carpet. It "sticks" to the floor and you cannot sweep with it. The internet has other examples of this problem if you do a search or watch some videos of the ordinary people reviews. Some say it will not work on "good carpet" due to the suction, others just note the suction issue on carpet. So this product may not be usable on carpet.
