Do it!
I hesitated putting this much money into a vacuum cleaner, but when I saw this one refurbished for a great price, I had to try it. The only regret I have is not buying a Dyson years ago! After going through three $90-$120 vacuums, I was absolutely floored (no pun intended), at how well this one works. It's very quiet, and the hard floor attachment works great, even picking up stuff in corners and next to cabinets, and even worked on my cow hide rug, where other vacuums wouldn't. It maneuvers under chairs and around items easily, also. No more beating the rugs with a broom outside! It performs just as well on carpet, picking up everything in its path. I read the comments about the telescoping handle being hard to operate, but did not find that to be an issue at all. The retractable cord makes storage so easy, and the overall size is easy to put away in the bottom of my coat closet, with all attachments, which are a snap to change out quickly. I also bought the allergy kit, and it's fabulous for dusting baseboards, and gentle enough to clean my fabric drum light fixture and window shade panels. I couldn't find anyting "refurbished" about it...it was brand new. I will never own another brand of vacuum in my life! If I had the opportunity to give this product 10 stars, I would! Don't guess yourself any longer, do it!

Better than expected
I've been looking into replacing my old vacuum cleaner for a while but could not justify spending an obscene amount of money on one. After looking into it for a while, I've decided a dyson was the way to go. Upright vacuums were always a little annoying to me as I'm quite small and find them a little hard to manouver. I have a cleaning lady come in biweekly but I do have a cat so like to vacuum often in the meantime. The Dyson DC21 Stowaway seemed to fit all my requirements. When I saw it refurbished here at a more reasonable price, I purchased it, still a little hesitant about buying a refurbished product. The vacuum came in perfect condition and it has been better than expected. I have both hardwood floors and carpets and it works great on both. All the attachments can fit onto the body. My only disappoinment is that the guarantee is only 6 monhs

Heavy and awkward but cleans well.
I love my dyson uprights. I have had two of them, and will probably always purchase Dyson uprights in the future. I decided it might be easier to have a canister version for doing steps and under sofas/beds, etc. My reaction is mixed. The canister unit vacuums well and you could hardly tell it was a refurbished unit when it was delivered. The canister has two large wheels, and when pulling it, it's pretty awkward and gets stuck on corners of doors and furniture because it is difficult to steer any direction other that straight ahead the direction the wheels are pointing; if you need to get around a corner, you're going to have to tug it to switch the direction it needs to go. My old canister had four swiveling wheels, and was a lot easier to pull behind me throughout the house. I was quite surprised at how heavy the hose/attachment part is. It's very big and very awkward and my arm gets tired. I am happy with the amount of suction and the ability to get under low pieces of furniture, though. If you're looking for something lightweight and easy to handle, this is not the vacuum for you!

I love my Dyson
Once again I love using a Dyson. It is the best vacuum brand I have used. Suction is fantastic and maneuverability is great. Bagless helps me save money on bags and reduce waste. All of the extra features make it extremely versatile. The only problem I have encountered is that the arm doesn't want to stay extended when vacuuming. This does seem to be getting better the more I use it though. Don't worry about the short duration of Overstock's warranty, register your Dyson on their website. Mine (which makes me think all of this model at least) is under a 5 year warranty with Dyson that includes parts and service. I had purchased a premium plan from Overstock and returned it once I registered it on Dyson.com and found out it was under a longer (and free) warranty through Dyson.

Great Vacuum
Although refurbished, I found it indistinguishable from a new vacuum. The performance is amazing. I previously had a cheap vacuum that barely worked. The Dyson took so much cat hair and dust/dirt out of my rugs that they looked like different colours when I was done! Part of my reason for buying this model was that I was looking for something rather small that wouldn't take up much space in my closet. Even in "stowaway" mode the canister is heavy and much larger than I expected and takes up more floor space than I thought it would.

Surprisingly Awesome
I've only used this vacuum a few times since I received it, so I can't speak to the long-term quality, but so far this is incredible. I've used it on my carpets and tile, and it picks up stuff like no other vacuum I've ever had. Well worth the money. Any friend that has a Dyson swears by it, and now I know why. This item is refurbished, but it looked like new and works perfectly.

Great Vacuum
Was looking for another Dyson to supplement my old DC07 animal upright as I had lots of extra accessories I wanted to be able to share. I frankly find uprights kind of clunky so was looking for a canister. This one has a motorized vacuum head which is fabulous on my area rugs and carpeted areas. Most of house is wood floors and the regular floor tool works well there. Low profile so I can go under beds and furniture. I find I am done vacuuming the house very quickly. Why? Because the suction is so strong you don't need to keep going over and over the same area. Canister holds quite a lot. Emptying it is easy. The wand can be shortened so it is easier to use small tools for dusting, etc. I love this vacuum. Yes the cord is short. I use a 10 foot heavy duty extension cord. Problem solved! As far is refurbished is concerned, you would never know. Runs great, arrived clean as a whistle.

LUV IT!!!
Been wanting a Dyson for years but couldn't afford it! Was nervous about buying a remanufactured product, but after reading all the reviews I decided to bite the bullet...the price of a remanufactured Dyson plus my 10% off coupon made it possible! The unit arrived and was in excellent condition...couldn't tell it wasn't brand new! I love this vacuum...it is amazingly powerful with great suction. It was simple to put together & I love the way it "wraps" up for storage. The only cons would be as others have said..the power cord is short so you have to unplug when moving around large areas. The unit is heavy..I probably wouldn't want to use it on stairs..carrying it up and down. It also doesn't work well on my extremely shag throw rug. I bought it for my wood & tile floors...which is 80% of the flooring in my house. Also use it on my wall to wall carpet (short pile) in my bedrooms & it works great! I love Dyson!!! Get one and make vacuuming fun & efficient!
