I purchased this vacuum 2 years ago. Absolutly the most awesome vacuum when I purchased it. Recommended to all my friends. I do use the product alot due to having 2 dogs and a cat but it is not the same any more. The plastic parts do not fit as tight as when new and the suction is not at all like it was when new!! I have replaced the filter (which was graciously covered under warranty) and keep the filter clean at all times as recommended.

I have purchased many vacuums in my lifetime but the Dyson Animal DC17 is the best I've ever used. Mine arrived after I had just used my Hoover so I decided to go over the same area. It took me a little bit to figure out how to use it but once I did I was astonished at the amount of dirt it picked up. Not only that but the nap of my burber carpet was standing up and looked like new. I have a long haired white dog and this vacuum removes all the hair. The attachments take a bit to figure out but once you do they are easy to use and the suction is unbelievable. I also liked the ease of emptying. One push and the entire bottom opens emptying completely. No more dust clouds and revacuuming where the old bagless was emptied. This is an exceptional piece of equipment.

I bought the Dyson Animal because of a long haired cat and was astounded at the dirt and hair it picked up the first time I used it. It continues to amaze me as everytime I vacuum the canister is filled with dust and hair. My question to all that have purchased it is do you find the attachment hose difficult to stretch out to the full 17' as claimed? When it is stretched, I find it hard to vaccum because there is quite a bit of resistance in trying to keep it expanded.

A great vacuum! This thing picked up 100X more dust and pet hair than my old vacuum.

I HAVE MANY FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS WHO OWN DYSON VACUUMS AND I FINALLY BOUGHT ONE FOR MYSELF. THIS THING IS AMAZING. I VACUUMED MY FLOOR WITH MY OLD VACUUM AND THEN VACUUMED WITH THE DYSON AND WAS AMAZED WHEN I FILLED THE CANISTER TO THE FILL LINE (AND I HAD ONLY DONE 2 BEDROOMS AND A HALLWAY). I LOVE THE ATTACHMENTS THAT ARE INCLUDED. THEY MAKE CLEANING MY TILE AND HARDWOOD FLOORS A BREEZE.

My wife and I bought this vacuum after borrowing one from an owner who has had theirs for 5 years becuase our one year old vacuum broke. Need less to say it was amazing and we went and bought our own..... It has great strength and cleaned our carpets better than ever!!!!
