I ordered a new purple model (the Animal) but, I received this yellow model (DC17) and it was NOT new, it was refurbished. This made me VERY angry so I called to find out what happened. Apparently, Overstock was out of the model I ordered so they just sent me this refurbished model without contacting me. Since I was SO angry about the unauthorized substitution, Overstock offered me a *** discount, which I took. The vacuum works great and it really does suck, in a good way! :0) It's a Dyson and I've never had such a great vacuum...worth every cent.

• Did the color match the color displayed onsite? No, I orderd the purple model.
• How is the quality of the product? Great, it's a Dyson.
• Did the description onsite accurately describe the product? No.

The vacuum works like a charm. It is amazing how much dirt you get out of your carpet when you thought it was already clean. Highly recommend the Dyson line of vacuums.

My husband prompted this purchase which surprised me since we usually buy sweepers for $100 or less. I'm thrilled with the performance of this sweeper and it's worth the investment.

I have purchased 3 mediocre vacuums for around 100 ea in the past 3 years and they are all worthless. I finally broke down and decided to spend the money because I wanted something quality. I am challenged when It comes to assembly...I was perplexed for about a half hour, and then just figured it out. All the components on this vacuum feel like quality. To the reviewer up there who complained about them falling off....my guess is he didn't put them on right, because everything on my vacuum is secure and solid, and I love the suction power, finally!! a vacuum that works. I am glad I spent the money.

With all the hype around this vacuum, I expected good quality. What I found is that the vacuum suction works great, but that various pieces of the plastic frame kept falling apart. Specifically, every time I use the vacuum , some of the plastic parts on the bottom fall off, and I have to become a vacuum repair person. Highly inconvenient. Candidly, I should have stayed with the competitor brand. If you are thinking about buying this vacuum at its high price, I suggest you think again.

I've owned a Dyson for years with great success. We took the old one to our second house and bought this new one for our primary residence. It is a wonderful vacuum -- great suction, easy to move and to take out the extension wand. We have pets and this vacuum does a great job picking up all the hair. The tools that come with the vacuum do a good job of removing hair from furniture, etc. Well worth every cent!

I really like the vacuum but it is very heavy if you have to carry up and down steps
