What an awesome vaccum! I thought it would be much louder then it actually is. The power of this vac for the price is seriously unbeatable. Ive dropped it and my one year old has pushed it into the walls and it hasnt scratched or broken its very druable Great Great Value! Cleaned my car with all the great attachments, did the couches, bedrooms -I used to clean with the old vac weekly (lets be real im a working mom) and what the dyson picked up was unreal! Now i feel like things are clean! Yay!

This refurbished vacuum works well but I can tell which part was the one that qualified for the 'refurbished' status. I have to pay attention while vacuuming on carpet , due to the fact that the refurbished part has to be the dial that keeps the beater bar on. Overall the DC14 is good but I don't know if the savings were worth the extra effort to make sure the beater bar is on.

The machine had a loud rattling noise immediately when we tried to clean the carpet. After a lot of time trying to figure out what was wrong a Dyson rep suggested we remove the rubber liner on the floor plate. This solved the problem. Later we noticed the rubber seals did not seal up properly with the canester. The machine has good suction, however you can hear the air leaking through the seals. At some point I will have to order replacement seals from Dyson. Also the wand does not easily release from the machine and is quite akward to use. Dyson are good powerful machines, however this one is a bit noisy and still needs some new parts. I suggest buy a new, last year or display model. I am not to happy with this purchase.

The vacuum does a great job on carpet but I really like the way it works on hard floors. We go to the beach often and vacuuming up the areas that get sandy are a cinch. Sand can linger but once I vacuum I can't feel any sand under my feet. The attachments work great as well. My only complaint is a very high pitched whistle sound that I hear when I vacuum the carpeting. Hope it holds up for a long time. A great deal compared to buying it in stores.

It's a great vacuum....much better than the hoover I was replacing. And, much quieter than the old vac. The suction is great....tho, I'm not sure it's a lot better than my old vac. Although the tools and hose are "at your fingertips" they're not quite as simple to use as I had hoped. And, the "turbine" attachment has no place to be stored on the vac....so what do I do with it?? I like to use it on stairs so it's not convenient that it's not "at my fingertips" when I want it. Overall I am happy with the new vac.

My Gosh I love this product. Never thought I could afford a Dyson. Finished my degree saved some money and splurged!! I am so pleased to be able to have such a quality vacuum. After break in last week, I was in mexico and boyfriend on hunting trip my first question was about my road bike and the second the Dyson!! Both were safe just the liquor stolen..the Dyson vacuumed up all the broken window glass and the no loss of suction on the floor has insured no small shards left over. Merry Christmas everybody!!!

Great vacuum for the price. I;ve been waiting a long time for a Dyson to be reasonable in price to get one. I just love it. Everbody needs one.

This vacuum does a great job. My son and I have asthma and with 2 cats in the house we really needed a vacuum that could pick pet hair, etc. This vacuum does the job, and we're both having less breathing issues at home. I highly recommend this vacuum.

This is my second Dyson...My first hasnt broken still going strong...but We had that for over 5 years and decided we needed on upstairs and downstairs....AND this one by far is better then my older one...I will never not get dyson...You cant go wrong and they always seem to get GREAT reviews from Consumer Reports....ALSO FOR THIS PRICE dont linger to get it...You will kick yourself!!!

I just received my new to me Dyson. It looks new!!! Well packaged and arrived in a timely fashion. I had it put together and was vacuuming within 10 minutes. The toughest part was pulling it out of the shipping box. I am amazed at the fine dust/dirt it is picking up. The tool attachment and how to configure will take some getting use to but I cleaned dog hair off a chair and it looks great. The berber carpet feels softer under my bare feet and the nap is raised up. I used on three area rugs and needed to switch from carpet to bare floor because the rug was being sucked up into the beater bar. I am crossing my fingers it lasts for a long time, I purchased the extended warranty thru O.co and can breathe easier the next 4 years. I am waiting to see if my child who has a mild dust allergy/asthma breathes easier. So far so good and I am glad I found it on O.co as a refurbished. For the record this has the same tools as DC14 the animal, Drive means it is geared to use in a car. Yeah when I get done with the house maybe.

This is a nice unit, I don't see a big difference in this machine and my Bissell vacuum, the small rotary brush stops rotating when I use it on the stairs, the long wand is ackward.

First off l'm glad I spent a little extra for the tools, it's worth it for the turbine head alone. That thing is awesome! Great for furniture. I bought this to replace a 10 year old vacuum I bought for like $100 back in the day....all I can say is I wish I had purchased this earlier. My living room has never looked so clean. It also took less than half of the time. I have 3 cats and a huge lab. This cut thru the hair like nothing. Over all I am extremely pleased, shipping was free and fast. I only wished I bought it earlier.

I am a tad OCD about my floors being clean, and I have 4 WHITE dogs and live in a dusty/muddy 11 acre property where the dogs roam. Yes, not a good combo! I used to 'sweep' with a broom on a sometimes twice daily basis and go insane watching the dirt and dust fly. I purchased a Dyson because my also OCD sister recommended it very highly. I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT IT~! And I am not over exaggerating! I use this ALMOST every day still, but it's so much cleaner and nicer. The amount of hair it picks up off of HARD floors is amazing (try finding an upright that truly vacuums hard floors, impossible!) The extension hose is very long, and I use it to 'dust' as well. (Just bought a handheld Dyson for this purpose, hope it's a bit easier). LIke I said, it's wonderful... The reason I give it 4 stars is I've had little plastic pieces just randomly fall off, and I can't even find where they fit! There is also a bit of an issue with some of the connection points having a bad seal once in awhile, but really.... You cannot go wrong buying a Dyson, even if it's refurbished.

I purposely waited over a month on writing my review so I could give an honest opinion. My refurbished Dyson 14 arrived right on time. When I opened the box, I was very impressed with the condition of the vacuum, it looked like new. I first tried it on our carpet and was very surprised to see how much dirt and hair it picked up because I had just vacuumed with my old vacuum cleaner. The rest of our house has laminate and tile flooring, which I swept with a broom before using the Dyson. I was shocked at the amount of dirt and dust the broom left behind. When I emptied the Dyson canister, I did not have dust and dirt to blow back in my face, and it was so simple to do. I would highly recomend the Dyson for anyone who really likes to have clean floors and carpet. Great Product!

Great Vacuum cleaner !!! Refurbished....... but looks brand new !!!

Purchased this vacuum due to great price (it was refurbished) and reputation behind the Dyson brand. I have been the owner of various uprights (hoover, dirt devil, etc) and this puts them all to shame. It is surprisingly quieter than most vacuums I have owned given how much it pulls up. I thought my old bagless upright vacuum had been doing a good job but one pass with this vacuum pulled up an entire canister of junk!!! Something about the look of the plastic it's made of has a "cheap" feel to it, but it does such a great job that I don't mind and hope it does not impact its longevity. It came with very handy attachments, and also has a "hard floor" switch which is perfect for my wood floors. All and all I am very satisfied with it and would recommend it. I also own a roomba, which doesn't even come close to the cleaning power of this vacuum. So, we program our roomba to clean while we are away during the day, then we go to work with this vacuum on weekends to keep things really tidy.

I bought it refurbished and it's an excellent vacuum cleaner! The only thing that happens that lets me know that it's refurbished is a sharp whipping noise when I push the front of it against a flat surface like a wall or couch base. None-the-less, it's a great machine. Overstock.com does it again!
