I am probably one of the most sceptical buyers around. I dont have money to waste.I research,I ask questions ,I read reviews.Any info I can get on a product will help decide whether or not to make that purchase. I made a very good choice with the Dyson 14 Animal Plus Vacuum. I needed a heavy duty vacuum now that we have 2 furry animals. One concern that I had was the fact that the vacuum was made of heavy plastic and not metal.I thought for this price I want heavy duty steel!.This manufacturer knows their product. Believe me it 's heavy enough! You may not want anyone else around the first few times you vacuum.Those with weak stomachs may not need to see the dirt that this vacuum picks up.So if you're looking at this vacuum,relax ,get it and clean up those floors.TAKE OVER YOUR HOUSE!!!! What did I do without a Dyson all this time? I was skeptical at first because of the cost but it is worth every penny and more. It is lightweight, easy to use, easy to dump the dirt. I have a vacuum upstairs and one downstairs - this has eliminated both. And I love the long cord.Vaccums close to the wall and made my carpet look new. And I have 1 cat, 2 dogs and 2 guinea pigs and two toddlers so you know this is a top notch quality vacuum. LOVE IT! Highest recommendations.

This has got to be the most fantastic vacuum I've ever used. When I first got it, I couldn't believe how much dirt was in my carpets, even though I had recently vacuumed with my old vacuum cleaner. Even more amazing, is that each week I use it, it continues to pick up so much dirt and dust. It works very well at picking up animal hair (hence its name, Animal). I would recommend buying a Dyson to anyone. I don't often get this excited over a vacuum cleaner! But you've GOT to try one!

My Dyson arrived the day after I had vacuumed my carpets. I've seen the commercials where folks vacuum with their old vac and then do it again with the Dyson with amazing results. Being a real "Doubting Thomas", I thought I'd try for myself. There are no words to tell you how fast the compartment filled with pet hair after doing only half of the first room. My old vac had this red/green light thingie that supposedly told you where to vacuum by showing the red light. After concentrating on the area, the light would turn green to let you know it was now clean. Folks, forget the gadgets on other vacs, get a Dyson and see what REALLY clean looks like. This machine IS amazing

I have owned several different brands of vaccuum cleaners. This Dyson is the best. Simple and easy to use. Cleans like a champ. I feel healthier after just one complete cleaning of our home using the Dyson Amber Animal Vaccuum. I love it. It saved our marriage.

Everyone raves about the animal, and I needed the help. O/S price was good compared to others I've seen and shipping was fast. The machine is great for pet hair but is a little large and clunky to carry around the whole house. Still, I'm not sure I could get this kind of performance on a lighter machine. Reviews I've read talk about the awful noise when it sucks up something it doesn't want and that's true. Steer clear of rug fringe!

Wow! This vacum picks up everything. Went over floors with old vacum ,then with this one and could not believe my eyes. Thought I would go over floors a second time right after and there was no more dog hair. It's like a shop vac but with out the noise. It's quiet and ligt weight. LOVE IT!!!!!

I ordered this on 10/25/07 and received it 10/31/07. 5 stars for shipping time. I assembled this vacuum in 5 minutes or less - 5 stars for assembly ease. I experimented immediately and was in love... I didn't even need to use any of the 5 tools that come with it, it cleaned so truly wonderfully. My prior vacuum was an Oreck and I swore at it every time I used it due to it's irritating noise. The main reason I didn't like the Oreck was because it didn't suck up dead fern leaves or dead bugs from window sills, I would have to pick them up by hand. This Dyson DC 14 Animal Bronze Plus Vacuum had no problem with the leaves or ANYTHING else. It might be heavier than an Oreck (I have a bad back) but because the Dyson cleans so much better and therefore faster, the little bit more weight didn't bother me at all. Now, I must get back to vacuuming...

This Dyson Bronze model has good suction... and that's all I can say that's good about it. For starters, it's heavy and cumbersome. It takes a lot of effort to push and pull it in its upright position, and two hands to turn it. It is too bulky to get under furniture or close enough to furniture legs, so you are forced to shift back and forth between the upright and the wand. The wand's handle is too low and you must bend to use it effectively. The wand is also hard to pull up into position and does not move easily back into the storage mode- it takes some wiggling until it is just-so and drops back down. If you squeeze the wrong spot on the wand while you are trying to do this, the whole metal piece detaches from the wand and you have to stop and put it back together. Dyson will only "troubleshoot" unless you purchased the product directly from them. There is no satisfaction guarantee. I thought I was going to get this amazing vacuum, given all the other reviews and advertising. Not so. I hate it. I wish I had tried to return it to Overstock within the time limit. Silly me. Buyer beware.

It's unbelievable how great this vacuum works - the stuff it continues to pick up out of our carpet is amazing. Obviously our carpet hasn't been vacuumed well with previous vacuums for many years! All the parts fit so perfectly together - easy to empty. Highly recommend this vacuum!

Excellent buy. Can't believe how much dust and hair was gotten the first time we used it. Looked like our old canister hadn't done a thing. We have 3 dogs that constantly are tracking in dirt etc.. The Dyson is amazing both on the hardwood floor, area rugs and carpet. The attachments work well on the furniture.

I chose this particular Dyson because the motor and suction power were more powerful than other Dyson models I considered. I found this information on the Dyson website. I figured, more suction, better performance. I am extremely happy with my purchase. Not only does this vacuum do a good job, but it also is surprisingly quieter than my Hoover. I have found this vacuum to be very easy to empty and am happy I no longer have to deal with my Hoover and the messy bag changing. I also like the attachments that come with this Bronze model (only available at Overstock). I called Dyson's 800 number and was assured the motor and everything is exactly the same as their DC14, just some extra attachments and the bronze color especially made for Overstock. I called because the Dyson website didn't mention the Bronze anywhere. Last thing, this vacuum doesn't feel too heavy when pushing around.

The power in this vacuum is unmatched.The first day I used this I had to empty the bin twice before finishing the living room.The carpet seemed clean before I started but it didn't take long to notice it was sucking up the deepest of dirt particles and my dogs hair.We have a lab and anybody who has one knows how bad they shed.When we finally finished we could've made her sister.I would recommend this to anyone who has a dog or thinks their carpet is clean.

Wonderful, the best vacuum ever. My son have asma and this work very well no dust and very easy to empty.

I have only had the Dyson DC 14 a few weeks so I can not comment on the durability therefore I gave it three stars. I love this vacuum cleaner, I could not believe the amount of lint, dirt etc. that it picked up. I thought my rugs were clean until I used this vacuum. It weighs a little over 18 pounds and is a little heavy for me to take up and down the stairs, but thats where my husband comes in real handy. It is so easy to empty and the filter was easy to locate. I am so happy that I do not have to buy bags or filters, that was a big plus and helped to make my decision on purchasing this wonderful vacuum cleaner. I have already recommended the DC 14 to many of my friends and family members.

This is really a great vacume. I understand what all the rave is all about. The company is very green consious, very little waist from the packaging. The assembly process is very easy and quick. Within 30 minutes or less your up and runing, depends if you read the whole manual or not. It is not necessary to read the manual but I like to know everything up front before I start using a new device. Really great unit. I bought my last vacume 15 years ago so this is a real treat.

I open the box and put it together and had to vacuum right then. Man it sure did do a great job. It made my carpet look newer and nicer to walk on. I love it. A little expensive but man I love this vacuum!!!! I am going to recomend it.

Just got my new Dyson and had to do the Oreck vs Dyson test. I was amazed at what my Oreck left behind for the Dyson to clean up! My husband has been like a crazy person cleaning everything he can think of! Hope he doesn't get tired of his new "toy" any time soon. I gave a slighly lower rating for durability as I have not had it long enough to judge that. Hope to have this one for a long, long time.

I vacuumed my carpet on Tuesday with the old vacuum, I received my Dyson yesterday and could not believe how much dirt was still in my carpet. It really gets down deep. The suction is amazing, you can see it actually lift the carpet to get the dirt out and the handle does the same. My only complaint is that it took almost 2 weeks until I received it. I have been tossing this purchase for over a year, I am so glad that i finally purchased it, it is well worth the money. It is not super heavy and as long as you read the instructions you shouldn't have any issues with how to use the tools and extension.
