With two large mutts who have made simple vacuuming into an ongoing nightmare, I have to say that this vacuum actually turns the task from heroics into normal housekeeping. It pulls dog hair out of pile carpeting with the very powerful and unchanging suction as advertised. Yes, the brushes fill up, but much more actually makes it into the bin, unlike previous vacuums, so you have to clean off the brushes much less frequently. It's also easier to get the hair off the brushes because they aren't squeezed into a too-small compartment. The vacuum also picks up everything else amazingly well. Among the many machines I've tried, probably the worst was a bagless from another company. The filters clogged after one cleaning, the suction stopped until two filters were washed and dried after every use, and emptying the bin was a filthy annoyance. None of these problems, here. The filters are unrelated to suction and the bin opens at the bottom with the push of a button at the top. If I stopped the review here, you'd probably wonder why I wasn't jumping up and down. The problems come with the attachments. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I didn't have trouble figuring out how to make them work, the problem is more how they work. First of all, the hose is incredibly tight. It is stiff and it really takes an effort to keep it extended. The good news is that this doesn't knock the vacuum over, because it attaches at the bottom of the machine. You can pull without problems, but it's hard to do and very hard to maintain. Another problem with the attachments is that the cannister-like head doesn't click onto the wand--actually none of them do--and it actually fell off a couple of times under the bed. The suction and lint removers on the attachment work so well that it stuck to the rug and came off the wand. This matters, because the vacuum is rather high, so you pretty much have to use attachments to get under anything but a table. The turbo head is a bit over-rated, as well. If you have soft cushions, the brushes stop turning on contact--which certainly saves the furniture, but defeats the purpose. Of course, with the excellent suction, the ordinary furniture attachment works very well. I got this machine at a great price here at Overstock, but, frankly, if I'd had to pay anything like the list price, I would have returned it. So the value was good for the money I paid. If you have never used one of these machines and you've got a pet hair problem--go for it. It will change your life. Just be aware there will be some struggles with the attachments. I gave appearance three stars, because I don't really care what my vacuum cleaner looks like. I didn't grade durability, because I've only had it for a few weeks.

I already had a Dyson and loved it, but I have 4 dogs and the hair was still too much for my old vacuum. I started shopping around for the Dyson Animal. I looked on many different web sites and the price was about the same no matter where I shopped. The difference in price was tax and shipping. I know that it was going to be expensive since i already owned one. I was having a hard time justifying the expense of a new one when my old one still worked great, so I decided to wait until tax return time to get it. Then Overstock.com sent me an e-mail telling me that they were having a clearance sale on the Dyson Animals. The price was just to good to pass up. I sold my old vacuum to by son and got me a new one. I love it. It came with more attachments than my old one and was cheaper. It works great, but I knew it would. This vacuum cleaner works like a charm, only problem I had was that the connections were not tight when I first got it and it didn't work like I thought it would. After reading the manual and tighting up the connections, works like a charm and cleans like no other! Love it

For years I have resisted the urge to purchase a high-end vacuum cleaner. After using the Dyson DC07, I wonder why I did not purchase it sooner. I can attest to the fact that my carpet no longer looks like by Bernese Mountain Dog has the run of the house (actually she still does!) What everyone else says is true. My carpet has never been cleaner, and after you see what the Dyson picks up the first time on your carpet, you too will wonder why you didn't buy it sooner. It may take time to figure out how to use ALL the attachments ( but even the basic machine and the stairs attachments are the best that I have used). I doubt if I will ever pruchase anyother brand in the future.I would jump hard at the next opportunity Overstock puts this on sale. By the way, this is the first product i have ever commented on. It is that impressive!

I bought this for a wedding present for my daughter and she absolutely loves everything about it, even the purple color. Says she can't wait to use it again because it makes vacuuming fun. Says it is easy to push around and is continually amazed at how much it picks up. I wish I had bought one when she was in high school!

Great price for a great product! Once you have used a Dyson vacuuum, anything else will seem inferior.

Great suction and easy to dump the dust cup without getting the dirt all over yourself. Only negative is how heavy the unit is. Bought this for my parents, who complain that it is so heavy that they do not use it as much as they maybe ought to since it is such a workout for them to vacuum.

Dyson has done a great job branding and marketing their sweeper..and I can say the sweeper is worth the hype, which is rare. I love this sweeper, the best I've ever had whether on carpet, hardwood, tile and area rugs and I have them all in our house..attachments are great too. Don't be afraid you will love it.

Great vacuum. Well worth the price. This proudct vacuums much better than my previous one.

After buying and using Dyson's for the past 8 years, I would never buy another brand vacuum (except for the useless handheld). dyson does a quick and thorough job on the dog hair that would otherwise invade my life. LOVE DYSON & O!!

Oh, my goodness, I can not believe how effective and easy to use this vacuum is! I thought my old Electrolux was great but I was actually ashamed after I saw what the Dyson pulled up! It is so easy to use and so easy to empty..no messy and expensive bags to fool with! I have pets and am amazed at how much sand and fur gets in the house even though they really don't live indoors. I have had this vacuum over a year and still marvel at what a great job it does. By the way, I bought one for my son before I got mine. My son loves his as much as love mine! It is purple, but truly I don't care what color it is...it works!!!

I waited a very long time to get a dyson. I must say I'm very disappointed. I find the hose is very very awkward. You can't just add the wand like a normal vacuum. It extends from the hose and is stiff and difficult to use. I bought a Eureka for upstairs and I like it better and it cost a third that the dyson did.

We purchased our Dyson after our old vacuum cleaner " bit the dust". It was the best purchase we could have made. Being a 40 y/o guy I would never thought I would actually get excited to vacuum. You can see the dirt, the power is incredible, and our house feels cleaner !! I would recommend anyone to go to Overstock to get a great deal on a great product. The Dyson is hands down a great vacuum cleaner !!

I bought the Dyson DC07 few weeks ago. This is the best vacum cleaner I have ever had. I have 3 cats and cleaning was always a nigthmare. Now it is fast, precise and pleasant. Thank you very much!

I am not the review leaving type - but I really like Overstock and I really like this vacuum. This is the Dyson DC07 Animal. It is model that is no longer available on the Dyson website or in stores because i believe it is discontinued. However it is still eligible for a waranty and it is one HECK of a vacuum cleaner. The Overstock price was the lowest ANYWWHERE (and they were running a promotion for an additional 10%). This was quite a deal for an incredible vacuum cleaner. The vacuum is pretty miraculous and similar to the other reviews - it put our other vacuum to shame. We have two large (and beautiful) golden retrievers and they like to be near us at all times. Hence they spend a lot of time in our bedroom. That was the first room I vacuumed - and after one pass the vacuum was FILLED with Dog Hair and Pet Dander. Pretty disgusting - but wonderful to know that it will no longer be in my bedroom! I too agree, I love the ease with which to empty the canister. It is a fantastic product at an unbeatable price. This is by far the best vacuum I have used over the past 20 years. It has great suction. It is very easy to use and dumping the canister is the best because you have no messy filters to deal with, just a push of a button to dump. The only draw backs are the on/off switch, it is in a spot on top that you can accidentally hit often. I am also not the biggest fan of the wand, it can be quite awkward to use in certain situations and some of the attachments don't fit on it tightly and fall off while using. It is perfect for going up stairs or for cleaning walls and cobwebs from the ceiling. Regardless of the few drawbacks I have recommended this vacuum to everyone I know, And at overstock it was a great price, at least $100 less then I found anywhere else.

Wow - I am totally in awe of the suction power of this vacuum. It cleaned dirt from carpet that I just had cleaned! After purchasing 3 vacuums in the last 5 years I'm hoping this is the last for many years to come!

I am relatively happy with this cleaner as I have a dog and 2 cats. I basically have hardwood floors with area rugs. It does a great job on carpets but normal on hardwood floors. My complaint would be the use of the attachments which makes me feel relatively incompetant. I wished the normal vacuum would go under furniture without the use of an attachment. I find the attachments cumbersome. Perhaps I just need more practice.
