My husband and I love this vacuum. We've had it for about 5 months now so we've had some time to test it out. Perfect for smaller households, it's compact and lightweight. It's extremely powerful and so much fun to use. My husband loves it so much I rarely get to touch it. There are couple minor drawbacks; the hose is short and you have to manually wind the cord. Despite these two design/functionality choices that differentiate the DC18 from larger machines this vacuum is a dream. Definitely a 5/5.

This vacuum is great. I can clean hard-to-reach places like on top of the curtains and corners with great precision. My only gripe is that it doesn't lock in the upright position as easily as I would like it to.

This vacuum really sucks!!! I mean that in a good way. However, when you spend this kind of cash on a vacuum, you'd think it would have a retractable cord. BUT NO - IT DOES NOT. You have to wind and wind and wind! It also has a faulty multi-directional tool that just won't lock in place, making it pretty useless. There are only two small tools that store on the side of the sweeper and the others are just for you to figure out where to store them. I also find that the wand isn't very user-friendly like my other machines. You have to go through too many steps to use it. I am also dissappointed in that there is NO low floor tool and the one they sell separately won't fit the DC18 model. It does work great when you are just sweeping, but when doing heavy cleaning, I've now got a lot more steps to go through. It just seems harder to use than my other machines.

THIS VACUUM IS A LITTLE HARD GETTING USED TO USING......ITS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER VACUUMS.....THE FEEL IS DIFFERENT...ALSO...INSTRUCTIONS LEAVE A LOT TO BE DESIRED...SO ASSEMBLY IS HIT AND MISS... BUT.....PERFORMANCE IS OUTSTANDING....CARPETS AND BARE FLOORS........IT TAKES PATIENCE TO GET USED TO....BUT IS WORTH IT....

THANK YOU FOR SUCH A GREAT VACUUM. THIS DYSON VACUUM IS SO EASY TO PUSH AROUND, IT HAS SAVED MY BACK. I RECOMMEND THIS DYSON VACUUM TO EVERYONE. THE QUALITY IS FANTASTIC. HOW EASY IT IS TO VACUUM UNDER CHAIRS AND THEY WERE ABSOLUTLEY RIGHT ON THE PICK UP POWER. I RECOMMEND BUYING THIS ONE.

I had been looking for months for a vacuum. I had originally wanted a Dyson but the one I was looking at was over a five hundred, so I decided to see what else was out there. I had looked at the Sebo,s loved the quality but did not have onboard tools. So I next looked at the Miele the newests upright it was a wonderful vacuum and had everything I wanted with swivel head, on board tools and telescopic wand, but at the price, it was also very heavy. So I looked back at the dyson and it had all the features I was looking, swivel head, telescopic wand onboard tools (with exceptions) and it is much lighter, and at a lower price it was a no brainer. I am very pleased with its performance so, the only down fall is its a small container, and all the tools are not onboard. I would really like all the tools on board because if you clean like me I like to go from floor to dusting with the vacuum. Oh I also did not mention that the brush turns with a push of a button allowing you to vacuum hard surface, this feature in other vacuums can cost an additional hundred dollars. It really is a great vacuum for the price.

Ive been wanting a better vacuum for some time. I saw the Dyson total access on sale and have used it for almost 2 weks now..I have two large shedding dogs, one is a husky, and this vacuum is great even though its not the pet hair vacuum. numerous gadgets and attachments, the manual and booklets explain everything, its small and lightweight and esy to use on my carpeted steps and landing...easy to maneuver and turn since its on a ball instead of wheels.

This vacuum will destroy all the yuckiness in your carpet. And overstock has the best prices. So buy it already. It comes with a 5-year warranty and will probably last longer than any vacuum you've ever had.

We love it! We had to empty the filter twice during our first use...we felt we were clean people as I vacuum twice a week but seeing what was coming out of our carpet was unbelievable. We would recommend this product to others.

1. Unbelievably powerful 2. Sucks dust like crazy 3. Gets into all nooks and crannies 4. The extending pipe and useful attachments allow us to vacuum in previously impossible places. 5. I agree with earlier comments that there should be a place to put all attachments on the vacuum, but then again, it would make an otherwise light vacuum heavy 6. Good price too, even though expensive compared to other vacuums, but the 5 year warranty in return makes it worth it.

I was hesitant to order this since I have had canister vacuums for years. I am very statisfied! The ease of going from an area rug to the hard wood floor can not be beat! The small size does fit nicely around most of my furniture but I will be buying the low reach floor tool to get into the corners and under the beds (I have 4 large dogs and hair gets everywhere). The vacuum does an excellent job of cleaning and there is no bad odors when I vacuum like I had with my old vacuum. The canister on the Dyson empties very easily and I am amazed at all the dirt and hair it picks up.

I feel that reviews give true reflections of what ordinary customers think about their purchases. So with great admiration I want to write about this product. The clearance price I paid was a great bargain since the regular price for this is $499.99 (I called and asked). But the proof is how well it cleans. It has been just 2 hours after I got it out of the box and I have breezed through my whole house and have used all of the attachments. With 2 teenagers and 3 dogs, my carpets get really dirty! My old vacuum had lights on it that let me know when it was no longer picking up dirt and it literally took me around 45 minutes to 'clean' my living room according to the lights. After less than 10 min with my new Dyson - I empied the dirt bin and re-vacuumed the living room again assuming that there would still be dirt. I was amazed! Nothing else came up! This vacuum is lightweight, compact, but full of the promised suction power! The attachments are great too, but only 2 of them attach to the vacuum. I just put the others in a bag for easy storage and to carry with me from room to room. I, like another reviewer, did not receive the soft dusting brush, but no problem. One quick call to customer service and they are sending me one. I am now a true believer in Dyson - and it is worth the money! And Overstock.com is a great place to buy yours! I am very happy with this purchase!

This is a great vacuum. I was looking for something a little on the lighter side-pound wise- because I have stairs to go up and down. I can easily carry this with one hand and it does clean well. I don't have anything negative to say about the vac up to this point and I have been using it for several weeks.

I love this vacuum. I did the test and vacuumed with my Oreck first. I had to empty the canister twice when I used the Dyson. WONDERFUL on animal hair (dog & cat). Lightweight and easy to maneurver , my 10 yr old loves to use it. The handle vac and attachments work great. I don"t mind the lengthof the cord or that it needs to be emptied often, that just means it is working. Enjoy!

I have been using our Dyson DC 18 for a few months now, and love it! It is lightweight and turns corners really well. It's a nice change from my old one which was clunky and heavy, and didn't clean very well. We have hardwood floors in 90% of our house, and it works great! The instructions were not very clear, and the attachments are somewhat of a mystery, but I did some research to figure out what each one does. Overall, I wish I had bought a Dyson a long time ago - I would buy another in a heartbeat.

I needed to replace a lightweight panasonic that I had for twenty years. I have 2 small dogs and 3 cats. I was really wanting something that could suck up pet hair and dirt. It is not quiet as light as my panasonic but it's close. It has great suction. The canister is extremely easy to empty. I love the extended wand that pulls out from the top. It is great for getting hard to reach places. The attachments are just ok, I probably won't use them much. It is more difficult to use on stairs than my old panasonic but all its other features make up for this. I saved $125 by purchasing it through Overstock compared to my local hardware store.

Quite a nice little vacuum. Not as powerful as the larger "Animal" Dyson, but very good nonetheless. I especially like the ease in turning and the smaller size lets me get under my tables and chairs. I love it and would highly.recommend it

I was sceptial at first about the hype about the vaccum and then about the price. But after using the vaccum I love it. It is worth the price you pay for it. I would recommend the Dyson to all.

The Dyson DC-18 arrived within just a few days, was easy to assemble, and works like a champ! I do wish that all the extra tools could be stored onboard. It is not heavy and is very easy to maneuver. Overall, I am very happy with it.

it is my opinion that the instructions for assembly and use were not terrific. If Dyson wants to sell on a global basis they should make sure there are enough specific instructions in each language. I was told I ould receive the pet hair attachment and did not. dOverall I think it's a great vacduum, but instructions not so.
