I bought this bed for my son's first apartment. It is great - is lightweight, easy to put together, has good room underneath, and works well with his 8" memory foam mattress. But - DO NOT move it once it is in place.. The legs collapse - the middle and end legs fold down in one direction and the legs on the other end collapse in the other direction.
I purchased this in a queen size for my 128lb son. He has been sleeping on it since 11/30. I just received a smaller version of it today and when I went to move his bed, I discovered that the entire frame on one side is all bent. The mattress on top of it is now sagging where the frame bent and now I have to buy a whole new complete bed and frame set. This frame absolutely cannot be used without a foundation . Do not think it can be used as a platform bed! Not durable or for long - term use! Maybe good enough for an occasional overnight guest only. An adult of less than 130 lbs should have been able to sleep on this in the way it was advertised without the frame bending the way it did!
As basic as they come, which wouldn't bother me if it hadn't have broken within 2 months of using it. The legs in the middle, where the platform hinges, do not stay upright. The plastic piece where the platform rests on the legs is tiny and flimsy, and split on both sides after a month or two. This means that if I move the bed at all (i.e. for cleaning, changing sheets, sex), the middle legs start to fold up and the bed goes down with it. Sometimes it just starts to sink under the weight of two adults without moving at all. I have to take the mattress off the bed and fix it by hand once every two weeks at least - it's pretty difficult to do this in my small bedroom with a heavy mattress.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Fine
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Cheaply made, but functional except for this problem with the legs
I bought this frame to keep my memory foam mattress off the floor. It does the job, so I'm pretty happy with it. I like that it is easy to take a part and store if necessary. What I am slightly annoyed with, is that there's no guard for the mattress so it can move if I just push the mattress slightly. It slides from the frame. I can't move the frame and the mattress together! Or, if I'm sitting on the bed with my back against the wall, if I scoot forward with my body, sometimes the mattress slides forward, too. Other than that, this is a good frame for the price or good for someone who moves around a lot.
The frame is very sturdy and easy to set up. It does make your bed much higher off the ground than standard frames but I like my bed high so it's better (it's now 29" from the floor). It was easy to put together, just align the screws and that's it, plus the fact that it's portable makes it easy to move from room to room or for an overall move to another location outside of the home. Gives you PLENTY of underbed storage space. Definitely a great bargain!
If this is all you need in a bed frame it is simply perfect. Nothing fancy or over the top but it does the job. I do have bed risers and I had to purchase more of them since there are essentially 12 legs of the frame to rise. But once I had that all set up it has been a dream.
This is a very sturdy frame. We bolted it to a nice wood headboard that used to be a convertible crib. The kids jump on it with no movement! It's nice not to need a box spring. I just have a six inch memory foam mattress on it.
I have one twin frame. If I bought another twin frame to go with that frame would they work together for a full size bed? Thanks Nnebox on Jan 21, 2015Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

Hello ngutkind, a box spring is not needed. You can use a conventional, futon, or memory foam mattresses with this frame. Thank you for shopping with us. Vicki Hoverstockcustomercare2 on Jul 23, 2014
I put my mattress directly on the frame. I don't feel that you would need a box spring at all. The height of the frame would also make a box spring impractical for the average height person.darylpaul76 on Jul 24, 2014
We put a memory foam mattress directly on the frame. No box spring is required.paworkingmom on Aug 13, 2014

It's super easy to put together. Just unfold both sides and click them together.cgould000 on Jul 8, 2014
These pieces are very easy to put together. You may need a screw driver, just to attach the two sections together with a nut and bolt, and that will take you five minutes or so. There is no other assembly required.paulpl on Jul 11, 2014
Super easy. as others have said, just unfold the pieces and use the bolts provided to tighten the pieces together. You'll do fine.911rn on Jul 17, 2014
Very easy to assemble, take the two pieces out of the box, unfold the legs, attach the two single frames with included screws, and now you have a double bed frame that does not require a box spring. You can slo detach them for two single mattress frames.darylpaul76 on Jul 24, 2014
Very easy to put together. The box is heavy and an awkward size so get help if you are carrying up a flight of stairs. This was my first purchase from Overstock and everything arrived exactly when they said it would.paworkingmom on Aug 13, 2014

I would not attempt to unless it's a faux sleigh bed that attaches a sleigh bed style headboard and end. The side rails are average length so trying to put into a sleigh bed frame as support will probable leave you short, literally.darylpaul76 on Jul 24, 2014

Does the frame come with wheels to make it easier to move it when changing sheets or making the bed?wvg8or on Jan 9, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
no wheels but the mattress can be moved on the frame for wall clearancefithstreet on Jan 9, 2014
there are no wheels but it does not interfere with changing bedding unless it is positioned against the wall. I would recommend placing abit away from wall. It is also very comfortable. If considering purchasing the underbed storage units as well they are very difficult to access if on a carpeted area as they have no wheels either.nccust1 on Jan 11, 2014
no wheels but its super light and you can move the whole thing or pull the mattress.jenniferc26 on Jan 28, 2014

I am happy with my purchase of the full size foldable bed but I have been unsuccessful with a headboard which fits. Does the manufacturer recommend a particular type? Thank you richard70 for the opportunity to help you with the DuraBed Full-size Steel Foldable Platform Bed. It's easy to unfold; takes literally 5 minutes to set it up. It comes in 2 parts; which fold side by side, as shown in the photo.tiffy79 on Sep 4, 2013
it folds top to bottom without a mattress; it's very easy but probably too heavy for a seniorrichard70 on Nov 3, 2013
It came in two cot size pieces for my full size double. Made it easy to get each piece upstairs separately as I couldn't have carried it upstairs if it had been one piece. You wouldn't fold it with a mattress on it. It only folds in half for shipping or moving. It took 2 seconds to put together and is very sturdy.vabeachmom2 on Nov 6, 2013

I have two cot-size twin mattresses. Can this frame be used apart as two separate beds?westieemma on May 11, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
I can't speak to the size requirements (measure your cots, then divide the measurements of this bed in half to check this yourself), but I can confirm that each side of this bed will stand by itself. You would just not screw them together. So, if the size is right, it should work. There's also a queen-sized version of this, I think, so if the double is not big enough, check that one out.dbai on May 14, 2013
Cot size and twin size are two entirely different sizes. One-half of this is cot size, which is too small for a twin size mattress.vabeachmom2 on Nov 6, 2013
