I just purchased this product last week and already I'm a fan. After reading many reviews, I decided to try this product. I ordered it on a Monday and received the package on Wednesday. I was a bit skeptical about what kind of shape the unit would be in as it was shipped right in it's original packaging - no extra box, bubble wrap or peanuts. As soon as I opened the product everything was just as described in the booklet. The packaging was easy to read and the product was even easier to figure out (very few working parts). Just pull the water chamber up from the base and flip over, unscrew the filter/cap and pour water into the chamber. It's nice that the chamber is flat so that it doesn't move around in the sink. I had no problem with it being too tall for my sink as others had written. The hole opening in the chamber appears to be wide enough to get my hand inside to physically clean it, although I haven't had the opportunity to do that just yet. Then screw the filter/cap back on. There was no problem with water leaking out of the chamber as others had mentioned - the trick is not to screw the filter/cap on too tightly. Then you flip the chamber back on the base and plug it into the wall. The dials are all easy to figure out. I don't know why so many people have complained about the chamber not holding enough water, it holds just plenty. There's no reason why anyone should be setting it on the highest lever of humidity or else it will create excess humidity and mold in your house. If you have the humidity level up halfway as I do, it will use about half the tank of water per night (roughly 16 - 24 hrs. of use total). However, I've only tried this method on the cold mist setting. My boyfriend and I were impressed at how quickly the mist comes out upon turning on the unit. At the very highest setting it really does look like pea soup. At the very lowest level, there appears to be no visible mist. Occasionally I will hear a few trickles of water coming from the unit, but within an hour or so it really dwindles down to almost no noise. It is certainly quieter than my old humidifier which sounded like I was boiling water on the stove. I also like the sleek look and un-bulkiness of the unit as well as the ability to have two directional mist flows. I am thinking about buying another one for the living room. It definitely beats my old V790 Vicks GermFree Humidifier in look, performance, sound and just about everything else hands down. In fact, I think I am throwing away that piece of garbage after just one year of use. Even if this new unit works for one season, I know I will be much happier.

Researching this unit over the web, I found that most people had problems with the unit's tank leaking, and water pooling around it when being used. A lot of it sounded like people not quite handling or using the unit properly. Since it also had many positive reviews, I decided to try it. We've been using it for a few weeks now and We've not experienced ANY of the problems other people have. The unit is quiet, no water pools, and if you do not overtighten the tank cap (as others thought was the tank leakage problem), there is no leakage. We placed the unit in the corner of the bedroom on top of a shammy in a small boot tray on the floor and the shammy has stayed dry. The unit operates very quietly, and we have the setting set to moderate humidity and only use it at night when we sleep. The very first night I noticed that my throat was much less dry in the morning. I've used cheaper humidifiers before, and decided to spend the money for this one and am glad as this one seems to actually work. On our setting, it takes 3 nights of use to empty the tank. Remember, this unit is ultrasonic, and since it doesn't use a heater, you'll only get a "cool" mist. Overstock had the best price for this unit and I am very happy with it.

My husband loves this product he no longer wakes up with dry eyes and nose. Easy to operate and well worth the price.

I like this humidifier a lot. It is compact, yet powerful. It really does a good job humidifying my son's room. I am just disappointed there was no paperwork included to give you info on how/where to order the parts that need changing.

Disapppnted to learn after the fact, and later read in manual, that the humidifier leaves considerable wetness on the surface below it (hard wood floors). Resevior is far too small to go thriugh the night or into the next work day without runnning out of water. Wish it was a returnable.

We had tried some other humidifiers before ordering this unit from SPT. The ultrasonic type humidifier is a very effective way to get the right amount of humidity into our bedroom. We wind up using about 1/2 gl of distilled water each night so it's very inexpensive to operate. As always, Overstock had the best price...: )

Works great and it's really quiet. Worth the price.

this one works well. it last over 12 hours on medium maybe 24 hours. warm mist works too. only con is replacement ion filter is expensive.instruction says replace every 6mths. imma try to stretch it a year.

It is small, easy to use, love the directional nozzles, and it is just a great buy for the money. No more morning dry nose/mouth!

We were very pleased with all aspects of this product. We've only used it a month, on the warm humidiifer setting, with distilled wated only. It appears to be true to it's claims and a very high end product for money.

This product is doing exactly what it's supposed to do. The added moisture in my bedroom helps me to breathe easier, thereby giving me a better night's sleep. I've been using the cool mist, since that seems adequate for my needs.

I love this humidifier and so do my orchids. It really puts out and quickly has my growing room at the right humidity level. The only problem I had with it was getting the cap off to re-fill which I have to do twice a day. I finally found a remedy for that by rubbing vaseline around the grooves I can easily tighten and unscrew the cap without hurting my hands.

The only downside to this humidifier is the ease of refill. Not a huge problem but the refill screw can be hard to turn and I almost always drip a bit of water while carrying it to the bathroom to refill. If this is on a piece of furniture that you care about you will need a towel underneath to ensure you don't ruin the furniture.

This unit really pushes out the vapor. We keep it set at the half way mark and use the heated vapor setting, which will empty the reservoir in about 9 hours. You do need to refill the unit daily. The first night we had the humidifier turned up all the way and in the morning the floor was wet where the vapor was streaming. Do not direct the vents towards any wood furniture. This is the best humidifier that I have seen. This is not a vaporizer that can disperse any medicinal vapors such as Vicks.

It does exactly what it says it should. It is super quiet. My wife keeps it next to her as she sleeps at night and it does not bother her at all. It produces both cold and warm mist although you can hardly tell the difference between them unless you hold your hand close to the output. We live in Arizona in a very dry climate and this machine has gotten us up to 55% humidity in our bedroom which is just a tad over 500 square feet. The only item on this humidifier I don't like is the method of filling it. You have to pull the tank off the unit, turn it upside down, unscrew the filter and fill it from there. I find the filter cap that you unscrew very difficult to open. It seems to get suctioned to the unit a little as it's used and it becomes difficult to unscrew. My wife cannot open it at all. It could be it needs to sit a while after you turn it off to relieve the pressure or I'm possibly tightening it a little too much, but I have not found the right trick to it yet. Otherwise it's great and I would recommend it regardless.

Decent humidifier with good size tank that you don't have to refill constantly. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star rating is because the warm mist isn't really warm. The amount of mist is great both warm and cold but i would have liked the temperature to be warmer.

I got this from overstock as a replacement that I got from them that was broken in the box. This one has stopped working after a week. It was only shipped in it's original box and probably got damaged and dropped in delivery, that's what the company said.

I read a lot of reviews and for the price decided this was the best choice for me. I live in AZ so it is very dry and I use this in the bedroom at night. It is small and is good for one room. It usually lasts 2 nights on a tank of water and thanks to the reviews I ready I have not had any problem with leakage. I love this unit, it has great output and does a good job. I use it with my filtered water and that seems to have worked great. Definitely a great buy.
