Very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing table chairs
This was a gift for my Mom to use at her bar but the chairs were not high enough. There were no assembly instuctions enclosed. Now that the chairs are not high enough I have to send them back but there is no retun postage available. But they look nice though
I bought 4 chairs. The chairs had some flaws in workmanship. I glued every joint I put together to make the chairs stronger. There were several bad pre drilled holes done at the factory that split the wood. That is why I glued every joint. I hope they hold up.
I have to say, for the price, they are great! they look a lot more expensive when they were. As long as you can handle the little rocking and have a dark wood pen, you would never know the price.
I recently refinished my dining room table and needed chairs to match. These are perfect. They add that modern touch to the traditional furniture I already own which creates a nice mix for my decorating. They are beautiful and were easy to assemble. I worry about them standing up to the wear and tear of my teens, but for the price I'm happy.
Screws not long enough in many cases. Wood shrunk causing joints to loosen and fittings to fall out. One chair collapsed and broke so I will have to order a replacement.
I was in need of dinning room chairs but not a table. Kids are still young and did not want to go full out yet. These are a great answer to my problem. I was able to assemble them myself. The company, once I found a number to call, quickly and without questiion, sent a replacement part for one of the chairs. They look good and seem sturdy enough. Only problem I find is the material of the seat cushion. It's color and material invite stains. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase.
I bought 3 sets of these chairs--6 in total and I am very happy with the workmanship and appearence. Everyone is surprised to find out that I got such nice chairs from Overstock..... i would highly recommend these chairs and Overstock for future purchases.
We tried to assemble the chairs and were short on screws. We will have to go to the hardware store to see if we can find the correct one to use.
I bought 6 chairs that arrived within a week from the purchase date. Once you put them together, they look relly nice and go well with the table. However, those chairs were the very first pieces of furniture that I bougth from Overstock that were not 100%. I even called and had to replace one of them because of the deffects in the wood. But they are still look nice and the imprefections are not noticeable because they are on the inside of the chairs.
I ordered 3 sets of these chairs and, after assembling the first, was moving along pretty well; however, one of the stretcher bars on the last chair cracked as I was trying to fit the front and back legs together. Customer service representatives were very helpful and courteous, and I received two replacement stretcher bars a week later. Excited to finally complete the ensemble, I set to work only to discover that the new strecher bars were wider than the originals. Rather than deal with the hassle of returning either the chairs or the stretcher bars, I chiseled the holes to make them wider. Even so, one of the chair legs started to crack slightly. Needless to say, I'm quite disappointed with this outcome. The chairs are quite attractive and comfortable, but as another reviewer implied, you don't want to look too closely. There are areas where the stain is light or absent, and the wood is soft--it dents and scratches easily. Bottom line is that I have mixed feelings about the chairs--they are beautiful, but I'm not sure how durable they'll be.
The chairs look good, especially if you don't look too closely. They took some patience for my husband and me to assemble them. We also got the bench and table. Looks good in our dining area.
Nice and comfortable chairs but assembly is a bear. To get all the pieces of wood to fit easily is somewhat of a challenge. The way I did it was to sand the lacquer off. However, you have to be careful not to sand too much off or you run the possibility of taking off too much wood and exposing the bare wood after you have assembled the chair. Overall, they were a great value. They clean up easily (we have three boys so we have tested this out a few times) and are sturdy too.
When the boxes started arriving I thought "what the heck did I get myself in", but after opening the boxes and saw what beautiful furniture it was then I knew I would get it put together one way or another. Well, what a surprise! I put together the chairs (4) bench, two bar stools and the table all by myself. I am a shade over 100 pounds and had no trouble at all. Until it came to the table. I put it together in a snap, but, I couldn't lift it to set it on it's legs. That's how heavy it is. It's well made and very comfortable. I would recommend this dinning set very highly.
It was my first order from Overstock, and I must say I am very happy with the chairs. They got here fast and after the first chair I knew how to put the rest of them together. They look really nice and they feel steady when you sit on them! All I need now is the table! ( waiting for it).
These chairs, which took only one week for delivery, are attractive and comfortable to sit in. However, the assembly is very difficult, even with two people working together. Where others have commented that one leg is shorter than the others, I am convinced that the side rails are the problem. We are disassembling a few now. We will file the side rail ends down just a bit so that they fit into the holes easily (then they're screwed into the legs anyway), and this will probably correct the current problem we have with the chairs being "cocked" just enough to make one leg appear shorter than the others. If that works, we'll order four more chairs. Incidentally, the seat cushions are covered in a khaki microsuede, and we sprayed them with Scotchguard before assembling.
I found these chairs easy to assemble although I used a little glue in the holes just to be safe. The color's great and neutral, lighter than picture and they look really nice with my mahogany table. Can't beat the price! Thanks
We purchased two extra chairs so that we could have six with the table. The chairs are sturdy and the cushions are nice. All of them for some reason came up about a half inch short on the front leg, but that is the only problem. They were delivered un-damaged, were faily easy to put together after we figured it out, and they are comfortable to sit in.
Love the chairs. Look good, feel solid. Great value. More difficult to assemble than we thought. Worried that we had damaged the first one trying to figure out the technique. BUT...they are great and we got it done! They are exactly what we expected and wanted. I would definitely do this again.
We ordered 4 of these chairs over a year ago for our fishing cabin. They were relatively easy to assemble and look great. They have had plenty of use by adults and children alike and still look and feel as good and sturdy as they did the first week we got them. We spend hours at the table playing cards and games and they are comfortable for extended periods of time. The fabric on the seats is off white but has been very easy to keep clean. So far, with prompt attention, everything from Easter egg dye to food stains to Kool Aid has come off with just soap and water. We love the chairs and our family and friends do too.
