These bowls are the right size I was looking for pasta. They are deep so it is difficult to find room in the dishwasher for. I like the cheery yellow color. They seem sturdy.

I ordered these dishes from Amazon and was so pleased I wanted some more. Amazon didn't have any more but thankfully Overstock did! I LOVE these dishes! Out of all the dishes I've had in the last 20 years of marriage, I like these the best. They are dressy and casual. Every time I sit down to eat, I feel like I'm at a 5-star restaurant. All the pieces are generously sized. The mug holds the largest setting on my Keurig. The salad plates are large enough for a small plate meal...sandwiches, etc. The bowls are perfect for a dinner salad or pasta. My husband loves the fact the plates have a rim. I couldn't see that from the photo. Much easier to manage and adds a lovely detail. I am so pleased with these dishes. I'm glad I purchased the extra set so that if any break in future, I can replace them with no worry.

Pasta bowels look great and I have dishwashed them a few times and all ok. I used the large serving bowl a few days ago but as instructed did not place in the dishwasher, However when I had washed it in the sink; black ceramic paint began to peel off, and looks very unsightly. I would like for seller to contact me via email for a solution and so I can send them some pictures I have taken.

I just bought a house and needed a dish set. I liked that this was 40 pieces. The sizes of the plates and bowls are great. The smaller bowl is good for cereal or icecream... everyday stuff. The bigger bowl is great if you want a big salad or pasta dish. The only complaint (and the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that the metallic rim around the plates, and the outside of the smaller bowls, they get finger prints and water spots on them very easily. I dont have a dish washer, so everything gets hand washed and air dried-- and when I put the clean dishes away they are always spotted up.

I had been searching for a pasta bowl to use with my current place settings, which are black bottoms with a gradient green interior. I was quite thankful to find these on Overstock and while they don't match exactly the shape and overall design matches well enough not to be mismatched. They are slightly pricey considering it is only a set of 6, but since it was the best match I could find, I couldn't resist.

These bowls are even better than I expected. They are perfect for pastas and salads. My granddaughters love them for their bright colors. My mother loved them when she came to dinner so I purchased a set for her as well.

I bought this set to accompany my purchase of the entire Red Vanilla Everytime set. Prior to opening the package, I hadn't given much consideration to what a 3 oz size cup would look like but, 3 ounces is only 6 Tbls, right? Sure, they're small, perfect for an espresso shot! However, if you're looking for a latte or cappuccino cup with room to add the tasty extras, then you'll want to use the RV-E tea cup often offered on O.com, too. The RV-E tea cup has a lovely shape for serving coffee specialties and making whatever design with froth you care to create. It has a more shallow depth and wider opening than mug-style vessels. The white color complements any beverage or food well, particularly highlighting the complex color of coffee and various hues in teas. I will say, at this small size, the sides are thin, not holding-in heat for too long. However, most people don't take long to drink less than a quarter cup of coffee! Let's face it, this is not a premium brand or production of porcelain. (all the reasons for 4 stars) Nor is it heavy heat retaining stoneware. Without a doubt though, it's fabulous for everyday and can be easily dressed up allowing for tremendous versatility in presentation & use. Despite the delicate appearance of this one RV-E shape, I don't worry about durability. I don't get the impression these are going to break in my hand or with the slightest knock, but then, I haven't tested that theory with rough or careless handling! My best test to date was crushing a stubborn, very hard pill for my elderly dad inside the bowl of one of these cups with a heavy stainless steel spoon. The only crushed item was the pill! I've found several other uses for these cups, from dipping ingredients, to holding my morning vitamins, to serving side sauces, individual butters, crushed pepper, dressing etc, to controlling my nightly portion of Hagen Daas or portioning out just the right amount of nuts for a snack & so on. The saucer can serve as as an on-the-table spoon rest for that messy casserole spoon without taking too much table space. I use them much more than I ever thought I would. The set arrived well packaged, as did all the other parts of my set & serving pieces that shipped at different times. RV uses specially designed boxes with cardboard around each piece. As for concerns expressed by buyers who received broken pieces, let me add that I ordered this with another RV-E extra, so this box & the other box were packed inside another mailing box. I believe that's standard practice for UPS approved packaging anyway. I can't imagine a seller slapping a shipping label on the manufacturer's box & sending as is. It's a small box, easy to get lost, to get stuck under something else or to find itself in the hand of a carrier tempted to toss it in/out of the truck. If yours comes broken and wasn't packaged inside another box, well, then, that explains it. Saving money on packaging ends up saving nothing. Certainly doesn't retain customers. Since not all dishes are offered that way, it's a bonus that the saucers are included in this package. The saucers are proportionate, level & fit well. I've run them through the dishwasher many times by now, at the regular setting, lying down flat on the upper rack. No problem, any time. As for additional storage space, these will safely stack inside up or as I have then, upside down over the other, up to about 2, maybe 3 cups at a time; I choose two. After that, the lightness of the cups and size/shape gives me concern they'll slide off. Keep in mind, the handle is relatively large in proportion of the cup weight/size so sliding off and/or taking a tumble becomes more inevitable. Of course, the saucers are safe in one stack. This set can be stored well using one of those wire inner, space-saving shelves on your cabinet shelf, yielding twice the storage capacity. I have RV-E mugs, teacups & these stored in that manner. If you prefer, I believe these will hang on the typical cup hooks which could be installed closer than usual due to the smaller size. Note that the handles on this set are flat, like a ribbon rather than rolled like a string, so I'm not sure if the bigger cup handles would fit into the hooks. I've enjoyed my Red Vanilla Everytime, especially the generous size of the plates and bowls. The two primary bowls are some of the best I've found for soup/chili, pasta & salad servings.. My husband's favorite mug is one from this set. If these particular cups fit your parameters of use, storage & durability, I recommend them, either to complete your RV-E collection, or as an add-on to another set that can be pared with white. The design/ shape is classic so it doesn't compete with other designs.

Been looking for a new set of bowls for serving stews/soups/pastas for a long time. After eyeing these for a few months I finally purchased them. They are just was I was hoping for. If anything, bigger than what I expected. The color palate is very pleasing. They look great on the table. I will be ordering another set to have a set of eight.

Item is color shown. More ivory or bone in tone. It is light weight which I love. The bowls are more for pasta so buyer beware if you are wanting deep cereal style. Very glossy and slippery when wet but this does not bother me.

In the past few weeks I've received a total of four (4) boxes of the 16-piece dinnerware set in Chili, in the hopes I would end up with 8 dinner plates and salad plates that did not contain significant blemishes or look like seconds. Its never happened and I now wonder if the fact that I have 3 dinner plates w/o blemishes means I should count myself lucky. Anyway, I have given up on this style and this brand, at least in red, for the reasons listed below: 1. Disappointed with Color: Many, many years ago I started buying red Waechtercbach plates as did the rest of my inlaws (a family thing). Eventually I had 10 dinner plates, cereal bowls and pasta bowls. Red is an extremely versatile color, and very, very cheery. The problem was the plates were ceramic and broke easily, they could not go in the microwave and the red glaze chipped after lots of use. So when I saw these red and white plates that were porcelain, I jumped at the chance to purchase a whole new round of dishes from a beloved manufacturer, thinking that the few remaining pieces from my original set would blend in seamlessly. Unfortunately, the reds are not the same - - these "new" red plates are closer to a true red whereas the original red plates were more of a orangey/tomato red. Do my old things "blend" with the new stuff - yes, it doesn't look nearly as coordinated as I hoped. (May also be due to the fact that the new set is porcelain so the red glaze is more consistent and solid looking.) 2. NOT microwavable. Let me repeat this --- NOT microwavable regardless of what this and other websites state. A person (especially a child) will burn their hands if they grab one of these plates as it comes out of the microwave. I assume its something to do with the red glaze. Regardless, this is very disappointing (and dangerous); my old red dishes could not be microwaved either, which is a real pain for everyday dishes. I thought these would be different - was lead to believe by this site and others. My suggestion: go to the Waechtersbach website and read their description for each style of dishes they make (hint: some say microwavable, a few say "do not microwave" and the rest remain silent on this issue.) 3. Poor quality control: when I opened the first batch of dishes, I immediately called Overstock to ask if they'd sold me seconds. Almost every dinner plate had blemishes - pits in the glaze, bubbles in glaze, marks in glaze, off-centered white circle (meaning the red glaze was not painted exactly where it was supposed to go, thus the white (unpainted) circle doesn't look exactly centered or there is a little red glaze on the lip of where the "white is supposed to begin." 4. Pervasive problems with all pieces - with the exception of the mugs. In the first batch I received, I found the most blemishes on the dinner plates, fewer on the salad plates, just a couple on the bowls and none on the mugs. So far, I have only inspected the dinner plates and salad plates in the second batch and the quality of plates in second batch is about the same. I am extremely disappointed in: the quality, the color (which is not quite as close a match to my existing pieces as I hoped), the quality control & the fact that this dishware is not microwavable (or at least in the Red Chili color). (For perspective, years ago I bought 12 place settings of Dansk china, also seconds, and there were NO issues with the glazing on any of the pieces. The pieces were sold as seconds because the embellishments on the dishes were flawed, though often one had to look hard to find the issue.) Final Comment: 5 starts for Overstock Customer Service personnel, who were responsive, empathetic and happy to make things right. I won't hesitate to buy from them again.

Perfect mid size bowl for salads or smaller pasta meals, not too deep and just right. Love the contrast in color.

Dinnerware arrived ever so quickly. It was very well packed. Every piece was intact. The dinner plates are huge, as are the soup bowls. I think that I will purchase the smaller bowls, and use these for pasta. I love the salad plates and mugs. I wish that the smaller bowls were a little cheaper, but I really like this set so I will go ahead and purchase them. Very pleased with purchase, as well as service and delivery.
