  • What I wanted

    Perfect for what I was wanting to replace a set of gas logs that put out too much heat for the 15 X 23 LR and the wood framed hearth around the fireplace. Wanted not so much for heat which is adequte to remove the chill from the room (South Carolina locaion) as for the flame and log glow affect. Easy installation, fit as expected right into my existing Majestic firebox unit. Simple plug-in and ready to use. Looks great, works great, and actually warms you just to look at it. Natural looking flame and convenient remote control. Very pleased. Only complaint is highly reflective (mirror like) flame panel which is probably necessary however I can live with that. If possible Dimplex should consider using a more opaque glass if they could achieve the same flame effect on a future design enhancement. I would recommend to others.

    • Hello bencer, this item can be used in a wooden casing. The electric insert must be installed in an opening with the minimum dimensions 24 in. (61 cm) wide, 21.5 in. (54.6 cm) high and 12 in.
